I was under the impression that cathedrals were something to do with Christianity - Christians hopefully being followers of Christ - which I understand includes welcome and hospitality and compassion and challenge and new life and making a difference. But what has Faro cathedral got...More

There is a small admission fee to see the interior of the Cathedral, the cloisters, climb the tower and visit a small museum. The Cathedral is very ornate and the views of the islands from the tower are beautiful.

There is a small admission charge but it's well worth it to see the Cathedral, small cloistered area and the tower. Views of the old city are excellent from the bell tower.

The architectural structures inside the building are really beautiful. The organ is worth a look as it seems to be adorned with oriental symbols. Climb the steps to look at the bells, time it right and you'll witness the bong.

Really interesting place, the cathedral 's square itself is somewhat quite romantic. The entry price is 3,5 euro encompassing the cathedral, the tower and the museum. Very nice cathedral with wonderful carvings. The museum is certainly not an absolute must. Do not miss the panorama...More
