Faro is a great town to wander through and Museu Municipal de Faro is a very special part of the town. Lots of culture and history. It is a place I am sure Portugal can pride itself with. We had a very memorable day here.

Building maintained, but original charm gone. Paintings and archeological remnants are not impressive if you have ever visited a larger museum. Wish they restored the place to reflect its history.

It's a museum; so don't go if you don't like them. If you do, it's a great and vey interesting place to visit, presenting the history and culture of Faro and its surroundings very well.

Not a very inspiring museum. Exhibits are not well explained and there is not too much there - hardly worth going.

Worth a visit, in each room is an English translated book. Worth researching key Portuguese words as they don't directly translate and are much more powerful.

Regional museum always struggle – they end up being part history, part art and part temporary exhibition spaces. It’s a compromise brought on by budgets, space and available material – all the best stuff gets shipped out to national venues. And that’s what this place...More
