Gorgeous views. We drove to the nearest car park which is free, and walked down along all the adjoining boardwalks taking in all the views and finally descending down the steps at the end for a closer look. Bring water and sun protection as it is hot out there and there are lots of steps if you go all the way down to the bottom. Boat company at the bottom of the steps offering tours for €25/ adult. Small cafe towards the tip and public bathrooms beside this (looked a little shabby from the outside but didn’t use). Definitely recommend a visit to this beautiful place.

When we visited, the waters were fairly rough so many of the boat trips were cancelled. Anyone wanting to do a coastal tour needs to re-consider/re-plan if this embargo (especially of Benagil cave) persists. We had a car so we were able to drive fairly close to the point itself, plenty of parking in the area. The hike to the lighthouse was around 15 mins from that point, fair flat so a leisurely walk even in the sun. If you go further along the coastal walk, there is a nice area to take in the sunset (but get there early as the nice spots are taken up quickly).

The evening was approaching and after a visit to the old city of Lagos, we had time only for a short stop at Ponta da Piedade. It so happened that we arrived just before sunset, and together with many other visitors we were able to enjoy the lovely sunset from the top of the cliffs at this fantastic site. We had no time to take a walk along the many footpaths prepared in the area, but that will be one of the attractions of this site. We also observed murmurations which are huge groups of starlings that twist, turn, swoop and swirl across the sky in beautiful shape-shifting clouds.

Amazing place with many viewpoint and kilometres of good quality boardwalks. Good cafe near the lighthouse. Free parking and free to enter. There is almost too much to see, so we couldn't visit all of the viewpoints. The best place is down many flights of steps at sea level, near the lighthouse.

Parked at the new car park a few hundred metres from the Ponta. You can either take the traffic-free road down, or else what looks like a new boardwalk along the coast. Note that the various boardwalk viewpoints generally stop a safe distance from the cliffs meaning you don't get great views from most of them. People were leaving the boardwalks to get the views. At the end at the Ponta you can get good views from the official paths and steps though. The scenery is interesting - worth coming I'd say, but if your choice is this or the Seven Valleys walk, then I'd do sections of the Seven Valleys walk.

For anyone that loves nature, you must visit this special place. The Ponta da Piedade is a walk along the cliffs of Lagos. The entire walk can be done on a lovely boardwalk to make it safe and easy. The views are stunning!

Well designed stairs and walkways provide excellent and safe vantage points. Prepare for a few hours and make sure to go down the stairs at the lighthouse to water level and feel the Atlantic’s strength. Small cafe available at point.

Lovely views - quiet at this time of the year but probably difficult to take a photo when it's busy in high season. We walked through the back streets of the town to the car park at Ponta da Piedade and then back to Lagos on the boardwalk. We didn't think the walking trail was very well signposted at some parts so possibly better with a map. However the whole experience was great.

Nice hike from Lagos old city. Long board walk available with various lookout points. Worth a visit. Make sure you wear shoes as it is quite a long walk from Lagos old city.

Occasionally rather busy. Without viewing everything, you could easily spend an hour here. Kayaks and tourist boats are frequently spotted peering down into the little, picturesque coves below. The sea is a really attractive green/blue color. Gorgeous at dusk.
