The place is amazing: a beautiful swimming pool by a beautiful vineyard, wine is good quality.
The service was terrible: we had to ask for a table (he did not come to us). He placed us (2 people) in a table for 8 people. We asked for tapas and a tasting of 4 glasses of wine: it took forever for the first 2 glasses of wine, and the tapas did not arrive.
After another 15 minutes waiting, bored, we decided to enjoy the swimming pool with our wines. Thes waiter screamed at us (unacceptable) that we could not go with the glass of wine in the pool: he did not explain us that we had to ask for the acrilic glass.
After that, he served 2 glasses of wine at the same time (clearly pissed), without explaining anything about the wine. In a tasting, you must do that
In the end, it was a very beautiful place with good wine, ruined by a terrible service. Maybe he thought that we were cheap clients (we bought our 6 bottles of wine though)
When we bought the wine, we spoke with a much nicer person that knew how to treat clients

Having read the reviews of Quinta da Tor we were really looking forward to our visit. However, the whole experience got off to a bad start. It was quite a long drive for us and on arrival we all needed to use the washrooms to freshen up. I think many of us judge establishments by the way the washrooms are kept. To say that these were disgusting would be an understatement. There was used tissue overflowing from the bins and on the floor and most of all there was an absence of hand soap in the women’s and general area. I cannot imagine the hygiene of the staff if they are unable to wash their hands after visiting the washrooms.
The tour was ok. The lady who took us through it was knowledgeable and friendly. We were not shown the vineyards and were just taken to a small warehouse to see the fermentation equipment, barrels and processed used. All in all it took about 20 minutes whereupon we returned to the tasting area. We were served 4 wines which were not the most exciting and ordered some tapas to accompany the wines. Tapas was very minimal for the pricing and they were not able to offer any chutneys or honey to accompany the cheeses. We quickly finished our tasting, paid the bill and left. Definitely would not recommend visiting until they are able to address their approach to hygiene.

My husband had 1,5L of Sangria and I had a bottle of wine, and we had a plate of regional tapas, our daughter drank a soft drink. The plate of tapas was only 3 small slices of cheese, 3 slices of chorizo and 2 slices of ham. There was bread but no olive oil. We had to order extra and pay for the oil. We had to spend 15€ pp but arrived at 14€ pp (but I believe we could have been drinking more) so we were forced to order 2 cans of soft drink!
The pool was dirty and full of babies without daipers and the staff at the cashier was not friendly after having to wait for 20 minutes! The toilet was really dirty…
No coming back for us, a pity because we came already for 5 years. It has lost its charm…

Got a tour guide who wasn't very good at English.
Too large groups on the tour.
The tour of 1 hour at 6€ was a waste.
The wine tasting was ok but nothing extra. No personal mention of the wine, only a plastic flipower with text.
This was not something we recommend

We came for the wine tasting. Unfortunately, that was very disappointing. Four wines with a quick explanation. You were done with this within half an hour. Really not much personal unfortunately. Fortunately, the lovely swimming pool made up for a lot. In the beautiful infinity pool we enjoyed the sangria that we ordered afterwards. This meant we had a nice afternoon, but you don't have to go here specifically for the wine tasting ;)

If you are the sort of person who thinks it's "clever" to express the taste of wine in terms used in the title of my review I suggest you stay away from Quinta da Tor. If, on the otherhand, you enjoy an afternoon of wonderful Portuguese hospitality with some tasty, well-made wines (red, white and rose) then head for the hidden gem that is Quinta da Tor. We had a tour of the production facility by our charming host Joanna and than sat outside looking at the view of the vinyard and enjoyed a selection of wines and tapas. We went for the "Golden Selection" which included some of the more higher priced wines but all were good value for money. We tried (and bought!) their 17% alcohol red which we were sceptical about but was really delicious. Get away from the beach and enjoy Quinta da Tor. We will certainly be back.

It’s MASSIVELY important you kindly ignore the 1 star review below. This place is amazing. It’s fantastic - the staff are so super helpful and knowledgeable about everything. You have the choice of ordering tapas - which is bread, cheese and lovely ham - for a really good price! It’s a super quiet, peaceful place with the most stunning views. You try four wines and slowly try them all. Then you can buy another bottle - and for 5 euros for the most incredible tasting wine. I cannot stress how amazing this place is and how it is a MUST. We will be ordering this wine all the way from the UK. Also, has the most beautiful swimming pool

Was really looking forward to this and was greatly disappointed. Thought it would be a nice winery but it was a rough and ready wannabe pool party with terrible dance music and bad organisation. Staff seemed nice but when what seemed like an off duty staff member was there drinking the working staff were having drinks with him whilst we sat waiting for the tasting for 20 minutes. Could be a really nice place if better organised, had some decent music, and staff didn’t come in on their days off and act loud and obnoxious. Was told it was fine to bring our son and it was definitely not the vibe for a toddler. Felt like an 18-32 booze party.

A lovely place with gorgeous views and an amazing infinity pool. We did the classic wine tasting with tapas - it was very good value and we enjoyed. The staff were delightful too!

After an informative tour of the winery we sat down to some generous tastings of their superb Portuguese wines and a plate of petiscos (tapas). We opted for their 'Brave Tasting' which included 3 Classic Wine and 1 Brave Wine (16%) = Touriga Nacional Red 13.5%, Aragonez Rose 13%, Arinto Siria White 13% and the Touriga Nacional 16%. All this in a peaceful and tranquil setting witn an amazing view and an inviting pool (shame I left my speedos at home). Well worth a visit but watch out for the 16%er!
