Often go here for a walk in the countryside. Few small inclines but a very easy walk. Never tried to cross the stepping stone bridge which would be nice if they installed a handrail.

The Benemola area is a 2 trail hiking path, a short and a long one. Especially the long one takes you through beautiful Querenca and the surrounding area with steep rocky parts. The starting point is close to a beautiful small stream that you can...More

This is a fairly easy walk with some uphill sections. There a two trails, one shorter and one longer, both share some of the same route to begin with. There is good sign posting on the route and some information boards that give an insight...More

I attempted the circular 9K trail one year ago, however was misled by the river bridge at the beginning of the trail that takes you completely off track. The key to starting the trail right is to walk past the river bridge, then past the...More

The spring was beautiful however in the summer the walk is very hot and there’s not much shade. I’d say definitely park in the second car park despite the narrow roads it half’s the walk to the fountain.

An easy walk with some information boards along the way. There are plenty of bamboo sticks to pick up along the way. The real fun for the kids starts when you get to the rope bridge with (concrete) stepping stones across the river, where they...More

We had great family trip out the Fonte Benemola we drove to the second car park. The children loved the bridge , paddling and the stepping stones . I couldn't believe how clear the water is and the Spring itself is bubbling and full. The...More

Stunning views of the mountains, beautiful waterfalls and lots of different flowers and wildlife. There are two routes you can take 4.5k and 9k. We were aiming to do the 4.5k but unfortunately got a little lost. Sign posting isn't the greatest. We ended up...More

Nice easy walk along the river with very interesting fauna and flora, typical from this Algarvian region.

Quiet and peaceful stroll along the river (eventually) and in amongst bamboo if you venture off-piste. Go after rain as it can be dry, and whilst the dry river bed is interesting a babbling cascade is better. There are waypoints with rural life relics along...More

I really don’t think so. It’s quite hilly and gets quite hot at times.
