The day we were in town, there were endless groups of school children enjoying several Christmas areas set up for them. It looked as if the entrance to the castle was in the middle of one of them. We followed the arrow pointing nearby and...More

This castle was part of a mini tour we found on the internet and decided to pay the 1.62 euro entry fee to see inside. There are good views across the town and the surrounding countryside and a couple of rooms set in the style...More

A warm welcome, very cheap to get in (under 2 euro), with a small but interesting museum. Don't plan to spend more than 40 mins or so, as you will have to look at everything twice! Great views from the turret, and good local history...More

This castle is accessed through the Museu Municipal de Loulé/Municipal Museum of Loulé on the backside of the rather imposing fortifications seen from Rua da Barbacã. So make your way to R. Dom Paio Peres Correia 17 to gain access to the castle. The remaining castle...More

Small Castle. Children and retired adults free. The children enjoyed the old kitchen and the battlements. Adults enjoyed the view. There is an English written guide. No audio guide. A brief visit as we are not interested in old pots!

A great visit in good weather for all the family. Visit a castle that still has ramparts and a tower, then drop down to the museum that contains cultural relics as well as roman and prehistory artifacts. Set out in rooms that reflect the various...More
