Right in the center of Faial Island in the Azores, this place presents you with amazing views. Not only the place itself but the surroundings and the car drive to get there. Outstanding!!

All I can really say is, if you have a clear day with good weather, you'd be MAD not to go and hike this spectacular trail. Relatively easy, 8k hike with mind boggling views of the crater and Pico. Don't miss it.

When visiting by vehicle you park up and walk through a tunnel onto the lip of the Caldera where you get a perfect view of an almost perfect circular extinct volcano.

There is an 8km (5miles) walk around the top of the caldeira which is mostly fairly easy, with some seriously steep climbs in places. We found it best to go anti-clockwise - that way you get steep climbs, instead of steep descents (easier on the...More

That's a nice walk on the edge of volcano. The area is very green and full of flowers but be prepared for a strong wind and clouds which are passing the edge very often. The walk is quite easy. Views and changing all the time

Amazing views and walks! A great way to see the whole island from on high. Even kids when young enjoyed it.

I do not think it will be a big problem for someone with mild vertigo. The view point at the start of the trail is probably as close as you will come to looking down over the edge. Recommend you wear good shoes and bring a... More

You can see it all with Bruno from Toboga Azores! Look him up! He took us absolutely everywhere in one day on Faial ... Because that was all we had! It's worth it if you can get him! Best guide around and dirt cheap!
