Also known as the Twin Lakes the road takes you to a vantage point as shown in the photo but you can follow it all the way down to the lakes too. Very pretty and worth the trip.

We did tour around and at each stop or viewpoint you see a difference, all around green. Is a special color between the two lakes but to be honest in this time of the year we couldnt find it

The views are amazing from the top of this wonder. There is a trail that is accessible by vehicle (or walking) that goes around the rim of this ancient volcano. I am not sure I would recommend a car as the road is rocky and...More

Spectacular lakes and mountains surround this tiny town in a valley on Sao Miguel. You can drive to it, rent a bike to coast down the mountainside to it or hike down and back out from more than 1 starting point. It’s very beautiful but...More

This is an extraordinary place. Great walking. Great canoeing (we found cheaper to book when you get there than online). Great views. Great swimming.

Beautiful place with great views and simple to reach. Hiking trails are longer, but easy easy. The only negative thing is many people there.

We rented a car and drove there on our own. That way we were able to go at our own speed and stop and hike. It's an easy drive as long as you are comfortable driving on narrow roads!
