Went to see this lake, top of a hill ,near a abandoned hotel, views were amazing, Drove into the village itself and took a closer look at the lake, well worth it. Got to explore the area too.

Yep the photographs are right. The lakes are green and blue and there is a road that crosses the lakes so you can see both by walking across the road.

We drove to Sete Cidades a couple of times while visiting Sao Miguel. Great views but not much to do in the town itself.

We were there in November and had no problem with accessing trails. Seasonal weather may have changed that, check with Tourism Azores, they are very current and knowledgeable .
