Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place very easy to pass and mixing it with a part of the Caldeira das Sete Cidades. But this is a completely separate lake. Definitely I recommend stop and inhale the fresh air of the lake! Exact location with car parking GPS: 37.851721, -25.777258

I combined three hiking trails for a total of 30km and covered a large part of the seven cities area.
I could say that this viewpoint was the least special part of the tour. The views of this lagoon are impressive.

A good starting point for hiking. Remember too see it from the highest point in Sete Cidades for the view over the lakes.

We have a full day tour with Amazing tours to Sete Citades and Lagoa do Fogo (see my other reviews), We made many stops to enjoy the breathtaking views of Sao Miguel Island. Lagoa de Santiago is one of them. This lake is so tranquil and serene just a beautiful place to enjoy the natural surrounding of this area. Recommended to make this stop on the way to Caldeira das Sete Citades.

Pretty view of the lake. Get there early if you want to avoid the crowds and watch the weather because conditions change really quick.

We stopped here on a jeep tour around the island. It was a beautiful place to stop. We had a rainy day but still got a nice view.

This lake can also be seen from the Boca do Inferno viewpoint, but it is also worth stopping here for a closer view.

This small lagoon has no access to water.
The water is green.
It is on the way to the Blue Lagoon.
I wouldn't say that it's a must see, but it is a nice stop.

Not too crowded even in August. Very peaceful and beautiful. Green overload- amazing to see. Unspoiled.

Very nice crater lake. You can take a view from the parking spot or take a hike and watch it with Sete Cidades in the background.

Hi, I was wondering how do you get to the Lagoa de Santiago? How far walk is it? Is there a space to park a car and than walk to it?
Thank You
