This was the most spectacular hike I've ever done (and I've done some). The views are amazing. But you also come across some incredible and surprising scenes, like deer that will come within inches of you, castles (okay- ancient forts), playgrounds, ... so much to see. My wife dubbed it "Magical" and I couldn't find a better word.

This is a beautiful view of the entire city of Angra but barely any documentation about the area to read about the history, learn about the area etc. It was interesting to see the WWII anti-aircraft guns but there was nothing providing further explanation on things like why they were there, if they were ever used, their role etc. It... There is a road that leads all the way to the top or you can make a good hike of it. Beautiful views from the top and a small family oriented park/ playground too.

We took a short drive to Monte Brasil, it was a peaceful overlook of the city/harbor, and well worth the visit.

Plenty of hiking available. One can drive to the top if limited on walking. Pretty views all around. Very nice park and walking area around the base. To walk you should plan on the free public parking lot a block our so near the base. This parking also serves down town so could be full.

Super lookout point with excellent views to sea and a good place to spot Dolphins. Also so green and easily accessible from the town.

This is a great hike for a Sunday, because everything is closed in the city. It's pretty easy to navigate with the red/yellow markings. There are a few great view points of both the ocean side and looking back at the island. There were a few pretty steep parts, but nothing too difficult. It took us a leisurely 2.5 hours.... More
