Beautiful, tranquil church in the old town if Aveiro. I had the place totally to myself on my visit! Lovely grand whitewashed facade with the typically attractive inset tiles so common on the region. Inside there is a beautiful gold gilted altar, grand crystal chandeliers and more pretty tiles on the walls. Definitely worth calling in to if you are in the old town.…

This building is both beautiful inside and out. And it is free to enter so makes for a really good visit.

There is a nice bronze statue of John the evangelist in front of this church and the interior is worthy of a brief visit.

The Igreja de Nossa Senhora is open to the public and worshipers for many hours in a daytime. The Church is well maintained and located in the center of Aveiro.
