A very quaint coastal town not too far from Lisbon. Great for a day trip. Picturesque marina area. The town has a variety of shops and restaurants. Charming cobble stone town square. Settlement in this area actually dates back to the Roman period.

Was informed that Cascais is a fishermen village. However, it does not look like the typical fishermen village. There are many shops, cafes and restaurant. There are beaches and marina that provide beautiful landscape.

Small but definitely worth a visit. Take a taxi to the centre and walk around taking in the sights. Restaurants abundant. The main thing is getting a taxi back to the hotel from there. Go to the taxi stop near the cascai park.

If you are staying in Lisbon you should definitely have a day in Cascais. Its only 45 mins away by direct train. A lovely friendly charming place with historical architecture/culture, new shops and lots of restaurants. Something for everyone away from the hustle of busy Lisbon.

there is a train leaving the Cais do Sodre station every 20 minutes, bringing you to Cascais in some 40 minutes. it is a pleasant escape from the city, and a nice stroll in this small, easy going place. there are some good restaurants, and if you feel like some more walking, you can make it to the hells' gate...... Lovely little picturesque town with lots of restaurants with good food. Easy to shop all daily nessecities and shops/restaurants are open all year around. Not like many other resorts where half of them is closed during low season.

Inexpensive rail trip from Lisbon 30 mins?.. lovely promanade area & lots of little streets to meander around .. we walked along the promanade down to Estoril lots of little eateries & bars along the way most of them open in March & then jumped back onto the train to Lisbon. Great day out if you want to get away... More

Cascais Centre is a gem along the coastline and a must stop for those en-route to Guincho Beach from Lisboa or Estoril. Parking is plentiful and cheap.
