The tuk tuk tour through the highest part of the city of Lisbon is wonderful. We were lucky that the driver was Tomás Gómez, a super friendly, helpful and attentive guy. Very professional. He advised us on what to see and do in the city and the walk was very fun. Beautiful tour! We would repeat without a doubt!

Super fun way to see the city! Tomás, our driver, was awesome—really friendly and knew all the cool spots. The tuk-tuk zips through narrow streets like a pro. Perfect for quick trips, even if it’s a bit noisy and bumpy. Tomás made the ride a blast. Definitely a cool, local way to get around!

Anywhere downtown you are bound to see a multitude of Tuk Tuk vehicles, and as a visitor, you might conclude that it is a waste of time, but the converse is true.
Why Tuk Tuk? You may have heard or experienced that Lisbon is quite hilly (up and down) and navigating the streets is easy to get lost (because streets look the same and signs are not posted prominently). If you are likewise unsure of where to go or are pressed for time, a personalized ride is what you want.
Our Ride: Our group of six took a ride with Katalina (I probably got that incorrect, sorry), and I was impressed by how we saw some essential sites with history in one hour. She was also flexible as to the final drop off point too. What I appreciated was we got some local history commentary and saw quite a few places without going up and down the narrow stone streets. Our group had done some walking one our own the first two days and it was not a good experience endlessly walking around and sometimes getting lost. The tour never felt rushed, but I knew we were on a clock.
How to get a ride: You can reserve ahead of time, or look for a vacant ride on the street. if you pick a ride up from the street, it is cash only.
Overall: Cost per person is very reasonable for an hour. We found Tuk Tuk to be a concise, easy and reasonably priced private downtown tour.

Hello synToronto,
Thank you so much for your review! We're really happy that you decided to join Catarina and that you enjoyed your tour with her.
Also, you're absolutely right! Climbing up and down Lisbon's narrow and steeps streets can be quite hard and the tuk tuks are perfect for getting to know the city without tiring walks.
Once again thank you for your review.
Have a nice day!

Be very careful with these. Know the cost up front. If you need a ride from one place to another, stay away from the tuktuk. Other options are cheaper like the hop on hop off and a lot more flexible for site seeing. It’s not worth the money!

Some of them are a little bit too pushy and desperate ( understandably) It’s better to pre-book and discuss the price in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Tuc Tucs are small little taxis cars, when you see them you must smile, really funny little cars to bring you to museums

I want to start by saying that I fell in love with the city because I experienced it though the eyes of a local. We took this tuk tuk with very little expectations, but thanx to CAETANO, this changed. he is amazing, charming, very knowledgeable, and friendly. We felt like We where with someone we could trust. He took us on the tuk tuk and told us about the history of every single place we went.
Thank you Caetano for making this tuk tuk experience the high light of the day!

My mother and I did the Wonders of Lisbon tour with guide Madelena on our first day in Lisbon. We loved doing this tour on our first day because it gave us a fantastic overview of the city to set us up for the rest of our trip. Madelena was an expert on the area and a very hospitable guide. The experience of exploring on a Tuk Tuk is very unique and a fun way to see a new place. We loved the pastries in Belem!

We needed to get from the Belem area to the Oceanarium without wasting time and there were no taxis around at the time. The tuk-tuk driver wanted 50 euros for the trip which we felt was exorbitant! However, a deal was struck at 35 euros and it was quite an adventure! It was quite a bit further than we had realised and was mainly along the beach area. Initially, a packamac was blown away but the kind driver stopped and it was retrieved( on quite a busy crossing!!!) From then onwards it was hold on tight and hold on to your possessions! It was bumpy and corners were taken at quite a pace but it felt like an adventure. Even in the midst of very busy traffic and from one traffic light to another in a section away from the beach the tuk-tuk kept up the pace with 5 passengers- three of them quite heavy! Who would have believed it! In the final section, the driver took a wrong turning but we could see our destination, so it was fine. Would I do it again? Yes, yes, yes -as long as I had not just been to the hairdressers!

The first thing we did in Lisbon is get on a tuk tuk tour. We stumbled on a parked tuk tuk and our tour guide Thiago was very welcoming and had a constant smile. He took us on an 2+ hour unforgettable ride. We visited the important landmarks, streets (including some shopping areas and markets) and neighborhoods of Lisbon. One of its old neighborhoods (Alfama) had a rustic and old town feel. Thiago stopped there and we walked through its narrow streets and colorful buildings, while he gave us a bit of history and anecdotes about the places and people living there. We also got to stop by to take some nice pictures. At the end, we got to an area overlooking most of Lisbon. It was pretty crowded and filled with tuk tuks. There, a guy was selling delicious natas, the best I've had in my 6-day trip to Portugal.
I highly recommend going on a Local tuk tuk ride while in Lisbon and you'll be lucky if Thiago was your tour guide.
