Licenced by Turismo de Portugal The Local Tuk Tuk is a tour operating company licensed by Turismo de Portugal (RNNAT Nº 461/2016) , with its basis in Lisbon and a fleet of Tuk Tuk motorcycles – most of which are electric. With cabins for transport of up to six passengers, these motorised vehicles have a removable cover to adjust to the atmospheric conditions, and provide an unforgettable experience for your exploration of the most emblematic monuments and landmarks across the hills of Lisbon. Young Drivers Trained to Provide Local Insights The tours are led by young drivers with aptitudes in several foreign languages, and their training is provided on the city. They will provide you with insightful knowledge on our tours that explore Lisbon’s history through its best monuments. The circuits are designed and suited to different lengths and tastes, covering stops at points of tourist attraction, allowing their contemplation and offering a brief explanation of the site throughout the duration of the trip. Be very careful with these. Know the cost up front. If you need a ride from one place to another, stay away from the tuktuk. Other options are cheaper like the hop on hop off and a lot more flexible for site seeing. It’s not worth the money!

Booked a tour. Travelled an hour to get to the meeting place, got there, just for them to cancel the tour 30 minutes before. Unprofessional.

Try getting a modern Tuk Tuk with decent suspension. Five to ten minutes into my tour I was jolted in my seat by the vehicle running over a very deep pothole in the road which lifted me out of my seat, I hit my head on the shoddy canopy (which was already ripped and frequently tended to by the guide) and hurt my back triggering a sciatica attack and my Parkinson’s. Hoping this to be a one off incident, I continued with my journey. Little did I realise the incident will be repeated in lesser form throughout the trip. I could not concentrate on the guide’s dialogue because of the intermittent attacks of pain on my left, I could not take decent photos due to the right hand side was shaking because of Parkinson’s.
I had warned the tour operator that I had Parkinson’s and they assured me they had assigned a vehicle with easy access for the trip. Access was not easy. I did not see an appreciable difference between this Tuk Tuk and the other, younger, better maintained vehicles. Thankfully, I returned to my comfortable hotel to rest my back for the rest of the day after forfeiting the last hour of my trip due to pain.
The vehicle I was in was a disgrace. It was not fit for purpose. The “suspension” was useless, if the vehicle had any, and the bodywork is showing very many signs of wear.
It needs scrapping, and the parts recycled.
To get to the meeting point and to return to the hotel I took an Uber. Why is it that a well maintained car can drive over the potholes without being a problem to the passengers, whereas the Tuk Tuk cost me ten times the cost of one Uber ride? Are you charging extra for the discomfort?
I have given the trip one star, as “no stars” is not an option.

Not bad value if you are short on time as you go from point to point and can cover a lot of ground in an hour. Tram 28 is also a good way to see things as much cheaper but unguided and takes a lot longer.

If you are looking to visit several places in Lisbon, enjoy great views of the city, and try some interesting flavor, while you learn about the city, this is a fun way to do it.
Great as a Team Building activity and you can personalize for your group.

We had friends visiting from California, we decided to take them on Tuk Tuk ride, it was awesome, our guide showed up on time, it was a little brisk that morning and she had blankets for, she was friendly, informative and very accommodating to our needs, her knowledge of Lisbon history was very educational. Our overall experience was wonderful. Definitely a recommendation for visitors.

Some of them are a little bit too pushy and desperate ( understandably) It’s better to pre-book and discuss the price in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Great experience with really good guide.
On our first trip we saw key areas and got our bearings re where we wanted to go too.
Opportunities to wander by self given at various parks etc.
I would say little bit too church based for me.

Took a tour see some street art and Eduardo, our driver, also took us to places we had´t visited yet. Finally the Tour was much longer than confirmed but he did not charge us more than agreed in beforehand. I would book Local TukTuk and especially Eduardo again and time!
