You will not spend a better 5 euros anywhere. The palace although impressive outside does not do justice to the splendour you see inside. I simply loved the inside, All the rooms are impressive but my favourites are the throne room and the banqueting hall....More

We went to the website to plan our visit and check the best way of getting there. We took a 45 minute bus ride across town from the tile museum only to find that the palace is closed during February for maintenance. I've since gone...More

This wonderful palace is included in the Lisboa Card, therefore, although a bit of a drive, we went here and loved it. We were almost by ourselves. It's nice to get away from the touristy monastery or the Torre de Belem. The inside of the...More

Beautiful palace. Not busy so we spent 80 min wandering leisurely thru every room. Stunning dining hall as well as the throne room. Would recommend everyone to visit.

A very underrated monument from Lisbon with lots of art in it. It's the only Royal Palace that looks just like one in the city and was the official residence of the Kings in the XIX/XX Century. Worth visiting every corner just don't look at...More

Such a beautiful place to visit, the workmanship is amazing. It was hot when we were there but it was well worth the wait.

This really is a must-do on your visit to Lisbon, a very impressive and imposing structure with a fascinating history. But you probably won't spend very long here.

The Ajuda Palace was refreshingly calm and uncrowded compared to all the major tourist spots in town. The rooms and exhibits are beautiful! Each room also has laminated guide sheets in many different languages explaining the use of each space, some historical anecdotes, photos from...More

This really is a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's beautiful inside and very well presented. There was hardly anyone visiting, which meant being able to go through the palace with ease. I don't understand how no one seems...More

Instead of standing in line at Jeronimo Monastery for 2-3 hours just to buy a ticket, go to Ajuda Palace instead. There is no wait and the palace is beautiful. It was the last Portuguese monarch’s home. Very well appointed and no crowds!

This place deserves the top reviews and is well worth seeking out. Much quieter and cheaper than other historic sights in Lisbon, it cost 10 euros for a family of 4. Very much furnished in an exuberant and glitzy style, it is a bit like...More
