Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited here on a Tuesday. Started at the bottom of the hill and to be honest the first section is all tat that is worse than you would have thrown out at home. However, as you go up the hill it gets better as there are proper stalls with vinyl records, vintage clothes etc. Some good quality stalls in the actual building at the top along with very good food and drink. Had the best tasting caipirinhas ever for only €5 here. Also great ham ciabatta for €8 (long wait as made by hand but worth it) and the kids had a great burger and crepes from the food stall near the door. Also had great coffee sat outside one of the bars just by the market hall, €1.5 for a latte !!
Worth noting we travelled on the Metro here to Santa Apolónia. Tried to catch a bus that never arrived and in the end walked it. It is a steep walk uphill but is only approx. 10 mins.

super cute market, most places only take cash so defo bring euros! a flea-style market with antiques and vintage clothes and also sellers with handmade items like jewellery and trinkets, definitely worth a visit as it’s so close to the Pantheon (literally just behind it less than 5 minute walk) there’s some food stalls for quick snacks too.

My wife and I stopped by Mercado de Santa Clara after going to the National Tile Museum. It was fun looking around at all the different items spread out for sale. We like to stop by flea markets in other countries. We particularly like El Rastro in Madrid. I liked the musicians playing their music in the park.

We were not expecting the marked to be as large as it actually was, but it was so interesting. Expect to find clothes, sunglasses, jewelry, hats, postcards, tiles (these were so tempting), tote bags as well as old antiques and vintage items. Come prepared with cash; the easiest is coins. All we had with us apart from cards were a 20€ note that the vendor had to split with other vendors nearby. We left with a ring and a necklace. Beautiful handmade pieces for just a few euros. A lot of random things as well, but interesting to take a look around. We went here on the way to other attractions but I would pass by again on future trips as I can imagine the stalls and vendors change.

Good variety of stalls. Hadn't realised the market was very hilly. Everything from souvenirs to antiques. Able to sit and have a quick snack in the middle.

A little overwhelming - *lots* of individuals selling all kinds of the same stuff for prices that were higher than the tourist shops in Chiado. Interesting experience, but we happened to be in the area while going to a different attraction, we didn't plan it. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.

This building is located on Campo de Santa Clara and its project was developed by the architect Emiliano Augusto de Bettencourt . It was opened on the 7th October 1877. Mercado de Santa Clara is one of the first commercial buildings in Portugal that uses two kinds of material characteristic in Europe in the second half of XIX century - iron and glass. At the beginning, it was used for fresh food sale. Nowadays in the central area of the market, there is a Center for Culinary Arts and at the side, smaller stores you can find different types of crafts, antiques, as well as places where you can eat or drink something. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, Feira da Ladra takes place here.

The market is in Alfama, the old part of Lisboa. It's a flea market, where you can find old stuff, clothes.... It's quite small, but it's worth the visit
