And Drinking. Restaurants, cafes, bars on every corner, also shops. Very lively. It feels safe never to be more than 30 m from the next drink...

Ok, it's part of Lisbon, it's hilly with narrow streets and bars and eating places and accessed on foot or by tram. Don't make a special trip here it's similar to other parts of old Lisbon.

Full of restaurants, pubs, discos and amazing places from where you can watch the city from above. It's a must while in Lisbon. Specially nice during summer because of the temperature.

It really was underwhelming. Not a lot to see and it was hard to find places to eat and socialise. I also found it quite dirty and rough.

this area is amazing to walk around either during the day or for dinner at night, it has great flavor of what Lisbon is about. Almost cant go wrong in choosing a resto or a place that plays Fado music.

Great area to go at night to eat and have some drinks and listen to music. There are many choices in the area. The streets are typical Lisbon style. The bars stay open late.

The Bairro Alto can be a joy in Lisboa. You can go up with the Santa Justa Elevador, or take the Ascensor da Gloria (cable-tramway). There are very nice shops and some nice monuments to visit

Our first time in Lisbon and we're glad we stayed in Bairro Alto. Close to public transport and central to everything we wanted to see and do. Will be back again.

This area was full of interesting and delicious restaurants, we had dinner here several evenings. Fabulous for watching the world go by.

One of the two areas in Lisbon with authentic Lisbon experience, especially in the evenings, highly recommended.

Enjoy a cocktail, discover a jazz club, hit the dance
floor or simply grab a beer and catch up with your
friends in the street: Bairro Alto, Bica and Cais do
Sodré are the core of it all. Amazing rooftops,
restaurants, cafes, bars, art galleries, museums and
theaters abound. Start off by admiring the river from
the Santa Catarina belvedere, have a cocktail at
PARK's rooftop bar, try a typical Portuguese steak, or
