Everyone else said it all. If you are at all feeling kindhip with othwr living creatures, this is a fun/learning place to be. Spacious areas for the animal and plant life, frolicking fish and marine life and well wtitten guides along the way. Good restaurant, reasonable prices. If you can possibly see the temporary exhibit of Submerged Forests, please do.... More

I have always wanted to go here since I heard about the Expo in 1998. Now, finally after getting cheap tickets to Lisbon, we are here. I have been to several aquariums in different countries. This one impressed me with the size of the main tank. We went in January, so it was not crowded and you could take your... More

The Oceanarium was a great place to spend a few hours there. Lots of Cool & Different exhibits from around the world. According to the different continents, they have different setup and different animals . The Place with the Penguins and the Birds was pretty amazing ~ it was nice to get some cold air over there with Lisbon being... More

We caught the metro to the oceanarium as a change of pace after three days sightseeing round the city, so it was a welcome break from the streets and traffic. It's a good oceanarium and some of the fish are amazing, so well worth a visit if you have time. It's very modern and spacious, though we went on a... More

The massive fish tank is central to the layout of the ocenarium, so as you proceed through the building, you walk around a gigantic cilindrical tank filled with all kinds of fish. There are also smaller tanks with other sea creatures. It is a wonderful experience!

Fantastic aquarium, beautifully designed to walk around and enjoy learning about all the sea life! Good activity with small kids! The restaurant serves very good food! The shop is very nice with a lot to buy as a souvenir! Nice to walk or bike in the neighborhood in a sunny days with beautiful views!

Worth a visit. The fish look happy and safe even when swimming with sharks. Love the layout from start to end. It's like doing a tour of the world.

This Oceanarium is huge and totally worth the visit. We loved every minute spent here. The best bit is the large central aquarium that has an Ocean Sunfish and a Great White shark (amongst others). The 2 otters are very cute!

One of our main "to do's" while in Lisboa and it didn't disappoint. Great value for money and great potential to learn some new things that you may have not already know. Awesome main tank which is encircled by other areas and variants of species and information. Me and my young son had amazing time here, we got around it... More

A modern, well maintained aquarium, it is a delight to visit. Good mix of ecologies and the Penguin habitat is great. I was pleasantly surprised by the high standards of care I observed. I also was impressed that explanations were concise. Highly recommended for everyone.

Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Neighbourhood Profile
Parque das Nacoes
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.
