Lux looks from the outside a promising venue. However when you come in all your expectations start quickly to vanish. The space is outdated looking more like a 90´s venue than anything from the 21st century. The balcony facing the river and the terrace on the top floor are the highlights. Pity that the terrace looks more like a cheap... More

We went to the Lux at the end our stay at Lissabon. We had great time! You pay 12 euro at the entrance, but you get 12 euros worth of coupons for drinks for it so actually it is free. There was a great atmosphere, two floors to party at (we were there in the winter, apparently in the summer... More

We wanted to take a table for 6 people- a normal price would be between 150 and 400€ However, they wanted to charge us 240€ per person! Absolutely ridiculous Afterwards we were told that this it what they do if you are a tourist and they don't want you in. Don't go here but rather to Urban Beach or Main!

DON'T GO. Disgusting discriminatory door policy. Went as a small group of three guys and we were told it was a minimum spend of 240 EUR per person for us. We were not drunk, there was no queue and we are really not troublemakers and don't look like it - they just decided they didn't want us in but couldn't... More

So the hotel recommended this place. My husband and two tween girls grab uber and go without booking since the decision was on a whim . We get there to be "greeted" by the only unfriendly people in all Lisbon ! They were taking themselves too seriously ! Anyway after waiting in line for a few minutes , this serious... More

I've been to various clubs in Europe and this one is the worst I've ever been to so far. They wanted my family and I to pay 240 euros per person! I wouldn't recommend it to any sane person wanting to have fun and enjoy his/her time in Lisbon. Very disrespectful and rude bouncers.

Besides being pretentious with some cocky ignorant bouncers, they were racist and mentioned between them that my 'black friend' couldn't come in. I'm white and Portuguese and been there a few times before. It's sad to see this in Lisbon. I'm not going there any longer and people shouldn't support hate and racism in society by going to Lux.

Went to see mano le tough on my stay in lisbon. Club was very good looking and well operated. Price for entrance was €16 which is decent but the drinks were kind of expensive. Staff is also not wat you hope to meet in a club. Overall decent because mano le tough is amazing.

A joke of an establishment. We were told 240€ a person at 3am on a Friday night (they close at 6am). As soon as we declined, some locals standing outside told us this is what they do to tourists. Locals get in for 12-20€ but they hike the price for tourists. Top clubs in Vegas with world renowned DJ's don't... More

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
