At Lisbon Zoo, we invite...

At Lisbon Zoo, we invite you to travel around the world without leaving Lisbon. Find the Sumatran Tigers in the dense vegetation of the Rainforest, observe lions, giraffes and elephants behaviour at the dry African Savannah and dazzle with the majestic flight of the colourful birds of South America.

Our mission is to develop and promote a zoological and botanical park, as a centre of conservation, reproduction and reintroduction of endangered species, through scientific investigation and environmental enrichment programs.

Along with education is a strong entertainment component that will ensure a great family time, always with the conviction that when visiting Lisbon Zoo you’re contributing to this great project of conservations of endangered species and their habitats.

Interesting place for animal lovers

The entrance to the zoo is actually through a shopping and dining area. The zoo entrance is back behind this commerical area and has many different animals.

I haven't been to a zoo for some time and had some reservations due to the negative reviews on here about the facilities for the animals etc. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that some of the enclosures could do with updating (the area where the chimps, gorillas and orangutans were was an example of how to do it... More

Before I begin I think it's important to note that this zoo has a dolphin show. I do NOT agree with cetaceans being held in captivity, and the establishment has ties with the notorious SeaWorld. I didn't know about it going in and did not see the dolphin show when I visited as just seeing the tank made me cringe... More

Lisbon Zoo is next to Sete Rios bus station so if you have a couple of hours to kill it might be worth a look. Good design if plenty of trees and plants making it an attractive garden in its own right. Plenty of cafes. 18 Euro entry.

A must see atractions for Lisbon. Dispite the several things that make me feel ambigous towards ZOO's, this one is all renewed a few years ago and you can spend a beautiful day there, wondering around and looking at all the animals and species they have. Take a tour to the ZOO!

A great place to visit with children. I'm not a fan of "zoo's" but decided to visit with my daughter and was really pleasantly surprised. Animals all had lots of space and were well cared for, which to me is the most important thing. My only negative is some of the public areas are a little " worn" for example... More

I'm a sucker for a good zoo and was not disappointed by the one Lisbon had to offer. Great array of animals in a lovely setting, with good enclosures. It was made all the better by the cable car trip, which circled around the whole zoo and really gave a birds eye view of the exhibits. Absolutely brilliant.

I was surprised to find such a beautiful zoo in Lisbon. They have a lot of different animals and very friendly staff.

At first we were hesitant to spend €20 euros per person but it was really worth it. We got to see the Sea Lion feeding and the dolphin show which was great. Lots of animals. Too bad the white Tigers and lions were napping when we went

The zoo is a great place to go on a Monday when most of the museums and galleries are closed. The collection of animals is varied our favourites were the white tigers. The cable cars are fun as well.
