A wood-panelled tram in summer, with it's open windows, scooting past architecture close enough to touch, is by far the most elegant and fun way to get around Lisbon. You also get a slice of history as the Remodelado trams have been trundling around since...More

Not worth the long line-up! You will need to catch the tram at Martim Monitz Square, where it starts, if you want any chance for a seat. The line up in the evening was an hour long (the tram runs every 11 minutes and has...More

This is a must do while in Lisbon, but if you are traveling during high tourist season, you can avoid the long line ups by taking Tram 12 instead, as it takes much of the same route, will provide a very similar experience, but without...More

You must take tram 28 to the castle. It will be packed and difficult with a stroller but try it anyways. An alternative is the green tram line that comes with the yellow bus package - (same line as tram 28 but less packed -...More

Nice aspect, but lots of graffiti on it. The vintage aspect is nice, but it is crowded and you get pushed a lot...

A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site,
Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply
"Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake
construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755
earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its
name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in
Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the

Yes, tram exists, at least existed 4 days ago :). Problem is, i guess, that public transportation is a bit confusing and you missed a tram station.
