The tour was very interesting because many historical events were told. José told the stories in exactly the right length and depth. He responded well to questions. The tour was longer than others and you had to (were allowed to ;) walk a lot. Unfortunately, we had a little less time to take photos of the sights during the stops. José also told us a lot about today's Lisbon, which made the tour very exciting. I would definitely recommend the tour to others.

Afternoon well spent!

What a fantastic tour! Highly recommend. Beatriz was our guide for the afternoon and she was an absolute delight. I absolutely loved that she took us to see things that aren't the typical "touristy" attractions and we learned a little history along the way. If you book this tour, choose the 3pm option. We ended at the most magical spot and saw the most beautiful sunset!

A great use of my time!

I'm sitting on my delayed plane in London heading for Lisbon when I realize I'm so delayed I'll have no time to efficiently see the city highlights in one day on my own. So I googled free walking tours and booked the 3 PM tour with Beatriz. Wow! She was so smart on commentary and took me to places I would have never figured out how to get to on my own. The highlight of the tour was the very end, which I won't spoil but it provided some of my best Lisbon photos. I'm so happy that I booked the tour and was able to see everything that afternoon.

A really good way to see Lisbon

We've been on a number of city walking tours and this one was great.
Rita out guide was so enthusiastic about the city and had so much knowledge. The tour was 3 hrs but it flew by. We saw parts of Lisbon we wouldn't have thought to visit.
I would recommend visitors to take this tour, if possible at the start of your stay cause you'll see and hear about places you'll want to revisit during your trip.

History and Context in a Great Tour

Beatriz was an excellent tour guide. She took us to interesting places and was easy to understand. She taught us a lot about the history of Lisbon. Her descriptions and explanations really added context to the historical information. She did a great job of interacting with each person and including everyone.

A great tour of Lisbon

Lili was a fantastic guide. A great explanation of Portuguese history along with a tour of more authentic sites. This tour doesn’t include the monastery or Belém tower, but will take you through important districts of central Lisbon. A great tour and I fully recommend

Getting to know the city!

We did this free walking tour in early November! The 3hrs was full of information & fun, getting to know a city from a local is always the best! We gotto walk those streets which only the local knows, highly recommend this tour! Edward was our guide and did a great job!

I will make this simple, if you are in Lisbon and want a great tour that gives an excellent overview of the city, culture and history, you are foolish if you take any other tour but this one. The tour guides do a great job, take you "behind the scenes" and clearly have great pride in their city. They answer questions, they are interactive and best of all, they are independent. They do not steer you towards businesses or areas that are overly touristy. Highly recommend.

This was one of the best free tours I have ever done. Edourado was very informative, funny and made us visit every famous Lisbon neighbourhood with a different perspective. Highly recommend!

Informative, professional and fun!

We arrived in Lisbon earlier than expected, and Chill Out responded immediately that they could accommodate us a day earlier than scheduled. This was a perfect introduction to Lisbon! Our guide, Rita, was full of enthusiasm and energy. She kept us engaged and moving all over the city. We learned so much from her, as she is encourages all questions and is super knowledgeable. She also gave an excellent recommendation for a non-touristy restaurant. Just fantastic!
