- Thomas VOakland, California17,513 contributionsLovely ParkI really love this little park perched on the top of the hill. The landscaping is perfect, the big trees are impressive. Lots of people sit here by the kiosk and sip cold drinks. Some great views over the edge. Very cool neighborhood.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 November 2023

- tk3232Sugar Land, Texas4,234 contributionsNothing specialPrincipe Real Garden nestles Lisbon Botanic Garden home to around 1500 different plant species, and founded in 1878. Principe Real Garden is located north from Bairro Alto and a 20 minute uphill walk form the city center, or to get here faster, use the Elevador da Gloria funicular and then about a five-minute walk from the top of it. In this city park you can enjoy a picnic and some good old people-watching to get the local vibe. To be honest, we were bored, except to sit on a bench after a exhausting climb up the hill to get here, there is nothing else to do here. I would not recommend making a special detour to see this small park unless you have special interests in the area.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 August 2024

The Príncipe Real Garden, officially called Jardim Franca Borges, is a garden located in Lisbon. A very atmospheric place. A beautiful garden for a shorter or longer break while exploring Lisbon. This area will allow you to regenerate your strength. A public garden with a giant cedar, with well-kept trees and places to rest in the shade.

The café restaurant in the garden was a lovely place to enjoy lunch and an afternoon drink. Pleasant staff. Excellent house wine. Good food. Very reasonable prices. Entertainment by street musicians. We came upon it accidentally but returned to the café later during our stay. Guess it's open only during the summer.

We stumbled across this small park while exploring Lisbon.
It isn't very big but it has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, with a cafe and groups of old men playing cards. As it is at the top of a hill it is a nice place to rest your legs too!

This is a really nice market to come to on Saturdays, lots of things to see and buy and when you're tired, just go to the kiosk and have a pasteis with coffee!

It is a nice little park in Principe Real. There are kiosks that sell drinks and a café. You can enjoy the greenery and read a book on a bench. On Saturdays, there is a market that sell local organic products.

We came in the quiet period just after lockdown so it was lovely and peaceful. Some beautiful trees and flowers, a nice way to spend an hour and chill out in the shade admiring the garden.

Nice park in the middle of the busy Principe Real District. Ancient magnolias and 280+/- year old juniper are amazing. The kiosks and small restaurant add so much to this garden. I hope to be back soon!
