We visited this amazing viewpoint located in the Alfama neighborhood.

The panoramic views are amazing.

Many of the old buildings are survivors of the 1755 earthquake and one can see the modern building of the cruise ship terminal below.

Its just a short 5 minute walk from Baixa following the tram tracks.

We sat at one of the cafes located here and enjoyed a drink and a snack taking in the breathtaking views.

Such an amazing place for great views of Alfama. Conveniently reached on either Tram 12 or 28. I went to watch the sunrise from this viewpoint and it was amazing. Also quiet at this time

Excellent viewpoint of the city. This is in the Alfama district and has a great viewpoint. Lots of activity near the place as well.

The views here are similar to that at Miradouro de Santa Luzia just 40 meters away with the similar problem that the place is crowded since it is easily reached by tram 28. The view here is nice but due to the lower elevation it lacks the perspective as can be found at Miradouro da Senhora do Monte or Castelo de Sao Jorge which are at higher elevations.

There are a handful of very nice viewpoints in the Alfama district including Miradouro das Portas do Sol just off Largo Santa Luzia. You can reach this location by walking up Rua do Limoeiro, just past the Church de Santa Luzia and sister Miradouro there. From here you can view the lower Alfama neighbourhood, monument landmark buildings below and the Tangus River in the distance.

Views at Miradouro das Portas do Sol are remarkable and well worth spending some time to enjoy. While there you will see an interesting statue of Saint Vicente. There are some kiosks there for you to purchase and enjoy a drink or light bite to eat as well as artists selling their works. Plenty bars and eateries around as well if you fancy a proper sit down meal or rest while in the area.

A very good place for a view of the river and Baixa Chiado, plus some of the rooftops. It is in the Alfama, so this viewpoint is way up there and you can also enjoy this unique hillside neighborhood.

The view from here is very beautiful. It would be lovely if we had more time to have a cafe and relax here.

Glad we visited even though we just stayed a bit for the view and vibe. Glad to see the statue of St. Vincent since we were traveling to Cabo St. Vincent later in the week.
Restaurants and stands all around. The large patio restaurant was not open when we rre there.
We took a tuk-tuk ride all around Alfama. This was just one of our stops.

Come here for the view and drinks if you are in the area but don’t go out of your way to visit.

Staff was pleasant but service really slow, we waited over 10 minutes to be seated and our drinks took 20min to get and the food almost an hour to be served.

Food was ok, nothing special. Price you pay is for the location and view, not the service or quality of food. The drinks were really nice and if I go back I’ll skip the food and just go for a drink and enjoy the beautiful view over Alfama.

I don’t discourage visiting, just be aware that it’s tourist-y with just ok food you could get anywhere else for half price and probably quicker, but anywhere else won’t get you this view.

Lovely place to walk around, we tried to get there for sunset. Not much of sunset but still lovely area. Live music , and someone selling ginjinha.
Several areas to eat and drink, and you can get the Tram here.
