Neighbourhood: Graça & São Vicente
You can be thankful that most common travel guides don't mention Graça and São Vicente that often. Part of Lisbon's historic center and "Old Town", they feel like independent villages in the capital's center, and more untouched than Alfama. Amazing views, restaurants and parks, as well as important monuments like the S. Vicente Church and the National Pantheon, make this a spectacular option for those looking for a more tranquil walk-around in the center of Lisbon. Graça has been the choice of many younger people over the past years, both nationals and expats, given the cozy feeling of the neighborhood and its hidden secrets.
How to get there

Beautiful location

This church is standing on a hill with an excellent viewpoint right next to it, with sweeping views over the city in general and the castle in particular...I only could check out the exterior of the church, it was unfortunately locked :-(

This church was near our condo and we went to check it out. Had the opportunity to hear Mass on a Saturday morning. It has services on weekends too.

Nice church, beautifully tiled walls
May 2019 • Couples
The church is located at a nice viewpoint (you can spot the Castelo de São Jorge), but the church itself is not that special from the inside. You'll get the usual impressions, a painted ceiling, a rather scary looking statue of São Tomás de Villanova... But walk further on to the adjoining part in the convent and you will find a white room with tiled walls with macabre religious representations, like the beheading of monks!

Ceiling and view
Jul 2019 • Solo
This church can be at the top of a steep street depending on direction you visit but well worth the visit. Set in a great view point. The ceiling is the most impressive feature of this fine church.

Impressive building with great views
Jun 2019 • Couples
We discovered this place after dining nearby with our two Lisbon based sons on Portugal Day and looking out across the city from the Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen (formerly the Miradouro da Graça).
An impressive exterior - we’ll have to try to get to see the interior on a future visit.

Nice church with some azulejos
May 2018 • Friends
When visiting da Graca viewpoint, I decided to have a quick look at the nearby church and convent. While it's not in a great shape, it's worth a look for its azulejos.

Found this by accident- lovely inside and great views of the city from outside too!
Apr 2019 • Couples
We were walking around the Castelo de Sao Jorge and found here by accident. The views across Lisbon from outside are amazing and the interior was unexpectedly beautiful. There seemed two sides - the convent and the church and you couldn’t walk from one to the other due to some renovation work. The area on the left had lots of amazing tiles making up big pictures/scenes. Worth a visit.

Stumbled on this fine church by accidebt
Jan 2019 • Family
This really is a very impressive church with some fantastic views over the city and also the castle opposite. Originally we thought this was St Anthony's but it is further down by the cathedral.

Very fine inside and next door is an interesting model of St Anthony's procession held every year when his relic paraded. One of the best churches to see in Lisboa in my opinion.Take the tram 28 then walk up to it.

Beautiful view and church
Oct 2018 • Couples
This is a lovely view of all of Lisbon. The church is lovely inside and occasionally has exhibitions going on. There is a small garden you can wander around. This view point is very high up so you will be offered a really nice view.
