Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If there was a button above excellent, I'd surely have given it that! What Ana and Diogo have born out of ruins is like entering a fairy tale that you don't want to awaken from. Hospitality with Kindness is what you'll experience here and is beneficial to the vacation experience, there's no regrets here. Step back in time, embrace for the short moment in your life what simple is about. Thank you for our glimpse! We'll be back.

To stay in a simple stone house in the country, can be a wonderful experience; so quit, so romantic and pleasant fournitures, modern shower, all what you need; I like simple, but comfortable life.

Aldeia Da Mata Pequena is more a project than a place. The proprietor is a transplanted Lisbonite who removed himself and his family from the bustle of the city to restore a way of life in the countryside. He bought one, then another then several cottages in a small little cluster on a hillside outside of Mafra. There is a cobblestone street, historic light posts relocated from Lisbon, a pig, chickens and peacocks and farmers working their fields just outside of your window. A winery and a historic Roman Bridge are a short walk away and ancient windmills dot the ridgelines. The cottages themselves are well climate-controlled, feature modern amenities and comfortable beds and showers. If you are traveling in Portugal and want a good centrally located home base, this is an excellent choice. Way better than some chain hotel on the freeway.

You may stay in a pleasant hotel with all amenities at your disposal. But if you choose another way, you could stay in a "simple" house, packed with tradition, quite and comfort, in a (very) small village. The owners are extraordinary pleasant and nice and will make you feel like you are at home.
