Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We opted for the Palacio and Adega (palace and winery) private tour. It is a gorgeous place, but somewhat different from all other winery guided tours. You'll see a huge collection of the owner's art.

A most interesting visit to a winery where you are given the history of the company whilst walking through areas of oak barrels aging moscatel wine followed by a tasting.A pleasant few hours spent with an informative guide Mario Rodrigues.

We arrived outside the schedule and the lady from the reception did not ask to adjust us.She said that the next was full and there was no possibility to fit us. The other lady offered a tasting in the garden (half unwilling but offered), we did.
One of my friends asked for cheese to accompany, she said she didn't.
At the last cup of the tasting the collaborator Thomáz came to serve us, I asked about the tour of the palace and about the cheese.
He managed to fit us on the 15h walk and brought us the cheese immediately.

I don't know what the problem the two ladies at the reception saw in us. If it weren't for Thomáz, our experience would have been very unpleasant.

The best part was the Palacio which was exquisite. Do not miss this. I'd just do this and then go straight to wine tasting. The actual winery visit is limited and you spend too much time on the owner's myriad art collection. This is probably to counter the fact that the winery visit is quite limited. But the Palacio is great so do that and then taste some wines. Our guide Rafael Andrade was excellent also!

I visit different wine estates and was really surprised to find myself in an art museum at Quinta da Bacalhoa where wines are matured in barrels with classic music all around. Amazing!

In prior trips we visited Cartucha, Pacheca and Espor wineries. Bacalhoa is the best visit. The tour they provided is the best. We paid 3 euros per person. 45 minutes visit. They have African art, Portuguese tiles, French sculptures, etc.
In the end they serve white wine, red wine and porto wine.
Very good deal.
