About
The "House of the Bay - Center for Tourism Promotion ", is an authentic business card of the region of Setubal. The space, which functions in a building from the XVIII century, includes a tourist service area and a wine area, with a wine cellar where all the region's producers are represented. The cloisters function as a winter garden, giving support to the cafeteria where you can taste the famous muscatel of Setubal. This is the ideal space for two or a family to visit, relax and get to know better, everything Setubal has to offer.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Casa da Baia has been very well restored. However it would appear that the service is done by employees of the town. Difficult to get a cup of coffee or otherwise. Better to lease it to a private caterer. But well worth a visit to see the restauration

The Setúbal Tourism Office is located in the heart of historic center of this city .
You really should visit this tourism office if you are in the city. Ideal for collecting a free map and get some ideas on what to do in Setúbal. The staff spoke very good English and helped us with all our questions

With the recent interior works, the House of Bay, turned into a place that all the turist must visit. It's composed with an exhibition room, a wine bar, that have several wines from the region, and a gourgeos outside space, that's very confortable, and an inner cloister that's well decorated. An huge wall painting of a turtle, and several other areas around. In all the House of Bay is a spectacular place, for who want to learn more about our region.

I visited the wine shop and was really pleased to see so many bottles from producers of the area. Prices were really good, basically covering all ranges. They also had a selection of other products, like jams, teas and beers.
I definitely recommend visiting this shop!

We try and find the local tourist centre, when we visit a new place. This one is unique just for the building, let alone anything else. Well worth a visit.

We wind up in a lot of tourist centers. This one is an attrraction in its own right.
First--it's got a nice courtyard lounge where you can enjoy a good drink and walk over a plexiglass floor that reveals ancient Roman ruins.
Then--you have a good wine shop and other merchandise.
The tourism office keeps it open quitre late in season, They are staffed and ready to serve.
The part I liked best was their attached dolphin museum. One room devoed to the evolution and ecology of the cetacean that generates tourism for the region. It was just right--well, i'm nuts for cetacean evolution so it could have had more for me, but for most visitors it's just right for the amount of education.
Setubal continues to impress me.
