Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A short walk up the mountain towards Pena Palace, this is a small but pretty villa. Unable to visit inside however but worth going to

We accidentally found this on the way to the Castle of the Moors, and the signs indicated that this was a way to get there, so we hiked it. It was a rainy day and we had our hiking boots on and so we were good to go. There were few others doing so, but it was a very lovely challenge with rewards along the way. Vila Sassetti and its fountain are very pretty, but the waterfalls and the journey itself are the real stars.
The few other tourists along the way all encouraged each other as we went, and it was really a solid hike. On this particular day there was low cloud cover, rain, fog, and we hiked through some mud. This day was, for me, the best day of the trip. I want to return to do this on a cool and sunny day!

The walk down after the Moorish Castle was wonderful. Steep steps in parts of the beginning that could be tough for many walkers but the views up to the castle and the rock climbing cliffs were super. About halfway down you turn into the old Moorish walkway through the gardens around the Vila and it’s beautiful and easy walking. For the more adventurous overall- takes about 45 minutes and descends 1500 meters.

This is a challenging but rewarding hike that can be done between the Pena Palace and the town of Sintra, with the Vila Sassetti giving its name to the trail. I suggest going DOWN instead of up the trail, like the majority of people did, because it is quite steep with uneven steps of various construction. The scenery includes views of the the various castles--Moorish, Queens--and rocks to climb. Going down took about 45 minutes, and that included stopping to let people pass as well as admire the vistas.

We walked down from the Pena Palace through the Vila Sissetti gardens which was a fabulous walk - albeit a bit steep on some of the steps. The Vila was closed when we went so not a lot of interest. Nice Gardens.

Actually discovered it on our way down a trail from Pena. Views and garden area became a pleasant surprise. The footpath itself is rather steep, so if you plan to explore the Pena Palace or Moorish Castle it may be better to take a more sloping path up and then come down the route via vila Sassetti.

We found this gem as we were hiking down the trail from Pena into Sintra central. This is quite a nice little Villa and would be a great place to have a wedding. Be sure to look for the tile work on the building and all of the plants and flowers that are in bloom.

We refused to pay the tut-tut, so we started walking up the hill to the palace. We walked by it, and it is really pretty. The walk was strenuous but manageable. But you are rewarded with a nice work-out and beautiful view going up the mountain. I was glad I did it.

Vila Sassetti is an old villa style house once the home of wealthy folk. It is being restored but is not yet open to the public. The relatively small grounds however are open and are well kept and interesting with many plants, trees and a small pond. The Vila is halfway along the hiking trail between the old town and the Moorish Castle and is a good point to catch your breath and admire the scenery. I believe there is a small café and some toilets nearby also.

We came down by foot, so I don't have a direct answer, but...
In general, it is fairly difficult to park in Sintra...
Since the distence from the Villa to the end of the trail is relativly short, I would say you CAN park near the end of the trail and walk, if you find an available space.
The Villa itself is just a building we see from the outside, and the gardens around it. I did not see any gift shop in the villa, but assume you can find many of those in town.
