Without the pressure of driving yourself and without a fixed itinerary, you can sit back and enjoy the journey and the sights, with air-conditioning. I can also collect you from and take you to the airport, or be waiting for you as you leave your cruise ship. You can visit one of the many beautiful gardens or play golf. If you decide to walk along one of the famous levadas, I can advise which one is suitable for you and take you to the beginning and pick you up at the end. I will be happy to show you the beautiful island of Madeira.

We spent two wonderful days with Manuel taking us around Madeira and showing us the sights. He is polite, full of personal stories of the places we visited and extremely knowledgeable about the history, the geography, the flora and fauna of this magnificent island.
Looking for places off the beaten track? Manuel knows them all. Looking for good Levada walks? Manuel has personally walked many of them and can recommend walks tailor made to your preferences. Want excellent local food? Manuel can recommend local restaurants that locals visit.
If you are looking for a private tour around Madeira, I highly recommend contacting Manuel. Not only will you get excellent service at competitive prices, you know that your money is being put back into the local economy rather than some large tourist company.

We spent five weeks in Funchal and had Manuel show us the island on four different days. You rarely meet in a life time people like Manuel. The knowledge, professionalism, respect and attention to detail that Manuel shows to his clients, make the tours unforgettable.
We got to see places that we wouldn’t be able to find on our own, spectacular and breathtaking, we ate where the locals eat and learned a lot about the island from Manuel. I highly recommend Manuel Tours if you want to really see all that Madeira has to offer. We will definitely return and hopefully Manuel will be available to pick us up from the airport and show us more beautiful places during our stay.

Manuel provided us an amazing tour to Paul da Serra and Fanal from Funchal and back. Throughout the trip he gave us great commentary and information about what we were passing and answered all of our questions to the fullest.
Manuel has been giving tours for 35 years (if I remember correctly) and is very knowledgeable on what seemed to be any topic we posed. His driving was great and his many years of knowledge allowed him to be able to show us multiple routes on from Funchal and back.
I couldn't recommend him enough for someone looking for a tour which will allow you to see places at your own pace. It really is a better way to experience Madeira, rather than seeing a place for a fleeting 15/20mins max.
He even provided us with a restaurant recommendation from which I am writing this review!

We booked Manuel Tours for Airport transfers and a full day private tour of the West of Madeira directly from the easy to use website. Delighted with quick positive responses to all bookings and timings. Our West of Island tour guide was George who was courteous, knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for us. We saw magical things and crammed more into one day than we thought possible including a lovely local lunch of fresh fish in Seixal. Big thanks George. Transfers were speedy and perfectly timed. Manuel took us to the airport and is a perfect gentleman as everyone says. It depends what you want, but if like us you value professionalism, value for money and a spectacular personalised experience then look no further.

Look no further than Manuel Tours for your travel arrangements in Madeira. We booked Round-Trip Airport Transfers and an Island Day Tour. Manuel answered all our questions, offered suggestions, confirmed all details and costs in a most professional and prompt manner. His vehicles offer luxury, comfort and are exceptionally clean. He is truly a gentleman, extremely knowledgeable, prompt, drove consciously and with great care. We never felt rushed and it was apparent he loved Madeira and genuinely cared that we had the most enjoyable experience and we certainly did ... Go Raibh Milé Maith Agat Manuel.

We had half day tour with Manuel Tours in early November, 2022. We were visiting Funchal, Madeira on a cruise ship, and he met us at the cruise terminal, and delivered us back to the ship with plenty time to spare before sail away.
Manuel is extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture, and even the plant life of the island. He is friendly and pleasant to listen to. We were a party of four, and he used a spacious Mercedes van for our tour.
We visited various lookout points high over the city, including one that was at the top of a 500 foot high sheer cliff over the sea, where a number of para-gliders were flying back and forth. It was beautiful. We also visited a fishing village and did some shopping. He then took us high into the mountains for lunch at a restaurant with a spectacular view. During the tour, he was able to adjust the itinerary based on our interests.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and everyone in our group felt safe and in good hands with Manuel.

We had used Manuel Tours 4 years ago and were hoping for the excellent service he provided back then and we were actually treated to even more than we expected! I had made a long list of attractions we would like to see that we had not had time for 4 years ago. He organized every one of my wishes into absolutely perfect days, accomplishing not only every wish I had but also adding a couple of nearby viewpoints and attractions I didn’t even know about! He was simply spectacular, friendly, courteous (really magnificent manners!) accommodating, interesting, knowledgeable and perfect. Spotlessly clean vehicle, great sense of humor, the list could go on and on. All I have to say in summary is, you will have not a regret in the world if you book his services. Please do yourself a favor and call or write him and put yourself in his very capable hands! You will be relaxed and happy and have the time of your life seeing this beautiful island.

Manuel is a very nice and friendly tour guide. Flexible. We explored all the main sights of the island combining some half and some full days, levada walks and sightseeing points. He knows the history of the island, vegetation etc, hence, a knowledgeable guide. He has a comfy and new van which was perfect for our family. He is also a good driver as none of us got car sick on the winding Madeira roads. Highly recommended!

I'm happy we find Manuel a week before we arrived. He can do a transfer and on the way to tell a couple interesting and important things about the city. The tour we had was amazing. In two days Manuel show us a lot of places, actually we've seen all the most important tourist points In Madeira and more then this, we even have been in some liqer/rom factory. He very patient cuz we stopped in many places for long time to try some local poncha or to drink some madeira wine on sandy beach. He knows a lot and if you interested he will be glad to tell you about. The restorants he take us was the greatest. I don't believe that we've seen so many in just 8 hours. The price is not high. We checked some tour agencies before and found that for the price we payed we have seen to much😉.

We came across Manuel through the recommendations of relatives who had used his services before. We weren’t to be disappointed. We asked him to do a day tour of his favourite spots around the mountains and north of the island.
He arrived at the time agreed at our hotel and for the rest of the day we saw many of the ‘must see ‘ villages and views across the island. His driving was excellent and we felt comfortable at all times in his car.
At each place he explained the history and other interesting points to see and things to do, always organising a pick up place at our leisure. He took photos of us when asked and pointed out the best views.
We stopped to see places that are not in many tour brochures , making us feel like the journey was exclusive to us.
If your looking for a tour or just a local journey , use Manuel for an excellent price and a very pleasant driver with excellent language skills.
