About
We offer a thrilling 2h tour on the speed boat which has 250 horse power. We take max 12, min 2 people per trip to watch whales and dolphins. This trip is for all kinds of people, ones who enjoy speed and adrenaline but who also enjoy nature and wildlife. During the first hour we ride into the ocean to find some dolphins and whales and after that you have the opportunity to enjoy views of the West coast of Funchal. You will be able to see Cabo Girão – the highest sea cliff in Europe. During the summer we take a 20min stop for a swim next to Fajãs do Cabo Girão. On all of our trips we have a professional biologist/guide. Also, our company provides a photo report of your trip, bottled water and during the summer, swimming with dolphins.

We booked the afternoon trip with Oceansea, because we read many good reviews here. And we have not been disappointed! The crew had been very nice and told us many facts about the seacreatures living around madeira and answered every question patiently and kind. After about 15min we found the first of many dolphins. The crew never "hunted" them but let them come to us instead. Some of them came really close to the speedboat, so I'm very happy we booked that trip and not the catamaran trip instead. We found many common dolphins and some spotted dolphins. I had a feeling that the crew loves what they are doing and on the same time shows much respect to the animals. I would definitely book another trip!

We went on the speed boat dolphin and whale watching tour this afternoon and weren’t disappointed! We saw bottle nosed, spotted and rough tooth dolphins. To top it off we then saw three sperm whales!
My boys (12 and 8) were so excited and the two ladies leading the tour were fantastic and so knowledgable.
Finished off with a quick dip in the ocean on the way back. We had a great afternoon.
If you are thinking of booking this tour.... do it... you won’t regret it.

I booked this trip for my birthday hoping upon all hope I got to see whales (no offence to the cute dolphins) but seeing whales would have been an absolute dream. There were only us and another couple booked on the 9.30am trip which was nice and plenty of room on the speedboat. The driver and marine biologist were great, very friendly and continued to communicate with us. Not far off the shore we were informed there were some Spotted dolphins, the rules are only 2 boats at any time so we waited but I was so pleased that they had these rules and you know that the conservation is priority. One boat moved off and we were able to move closer for a real close up photo opportunity, it didn’t disappoint, they swam around the boat playfully which again was great to see. Another rule is only 10 minutes at a spot so we moved on to leave the dolphins in their own habitat. We sailed for a while round the east coast of the island which had lovely views. Just when I thought the dolphins were the only wildlife we were lucky enough to see we cane upon a family of pilot whales which was perfect. They swam around in their own without being distracted by us being there (we kept enough distance). It was so surreal I burst into tears. I loved the experience and thanks for delivering my birthday dream. 🐳🐬🐋

Just wanted to say we’ve had a fantastic boat trip today with Ocean See!
We were so so lucky and saw lots (maybe about 30!) spotted dolphins, 5 pilot whales and 2 turtles.
As they operate on a rib boat the boat can travel much faster than the larger boats meaning you can get there faster. There are also less people on board so you can get closer to the dolphins.
They were both lovely staff too and very knowledgeable.
I also loved how they respect the animals, they don’t get too close and they only stay for 10 minutes or so. They also picked up some rubbish which we found floating around too.

We’ve been on a number of whale and dolphin tours around the world and this trip was up there with the best of them. The staff were great - very knowledgeable and keen to share their knowledge and very respectful of the animals. We saw three different dolphin species (spotted, common and bottlenose) and a rare sighting of 3 juvenile sperm whales frolicking on the surface. The strict laws in Madeira mean the animals are completely respected and it shows. They were totally comfortable and I don’t think the whales even knew we were there! We can totally recommend Oceansee in every aspect of the trip. It didn’t feel like a tourist trip it felt more like an opportunity to join marine biologists in their work. Thank you.

We had done a lot of research into which boat company we would like to go with and choose OceanSee because of the experience they provided. Unfortunately a couple of hours before we were due to go out we had a phone call to say that the boat was broken and could we go out with another company that afternoon, the girl was very apologetic and these things happen. But as we had left the day free to do this trip we agreed and when we arrived at OceanSee we were shown to Magicdolphins by an OceanSee employee who again was very polite, we had a great experience with magicdolphins who may not of given us the same experience, but we would love to come back and hope that OceanSee could give us this opportunity.
So 4 stars because we didn’t get what we booked but they were quick to sort us out on another trip!

This boat trip did not disappoint. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable about the island and wild life. We were given life jackets and offered waterproofs (not needed as it was not raining). We saw large groups of spotted dolphins, common dolphins which were alongside our boat (the boat is able to get very close)and a couple of young turtles.
The ride out to sea was fast and fun. A great morning out. Thanks x

The trip was spectacular. The staff is very professional, welcoming and helpful. We can see dolphins very closely, and it is possible to see whales, turtles, sea lions, etc. Is a unique experience.

Had 2 wonderful trips this week. Lucky enough to see common dolphins, turtle & pilot whales first trip, along with bottle nosed dolphins second trip. Staff very friendly, courteous & knowledgeable. Happy to recommend to anyone. Only tip, if you don't want to get wet, use the waterproofs offered as in a RIB no guarantee of staying dry.

Hello.
Yes, you can bring your own camera on the boat. You just will have to be careful if the ocean during your trip will be a bit rough. But in general speaking, we never had any problems with falling cameras outside of the board.

É possível fazer a natação com os golfinhos durante todo o ano, com as espécies cujo a lei permite e sob condições específicas que respeitem os animais e que seja seguro para quem o faz. É possível executar a natação com 8 anos, desde que a criança saiba nadar.

It says during the summer you can stop off for a swim, I would love this but the hubby isn’t so keen, would he be able to stay on the boat?

Yes, we can stop for a swim if the clients wish to do it and if we will have time, as sometimes cetaceans can be so far that we do not have much time to come back for a swim.
Everyone who want to can make a swim, who doesn't can stay on the boat.
