15 euros for 2 days travel taking in the full length of Funchal and even further West. This was really good value for money. These hop-on-hop-off buses ran every 30mins (or more often) when we were there in February. They have a simple to follow route joining the City Centre, through the Hotel district and on to the 2 villages... More

The commentary simply consists of being given a set of headphones by the driver which mainly plays annoying repeating music. We did go very high in Funchal and see parts that we would not have seen otherwise. We were charged twelve euros each for a 24 hr pass. I am not convinced that this was worth it.

If you do the 3 in 1 tour for 48 hours it costs 15e per person which includes circular tour of funchal a trip out to Canada do lobos village and then small coach to the skywalk which is very underwhelming. The one Republic of Ireland is way better. The waiting times demand patience but for the price only a... More

The route the bus takes is a really useful way of seeing parts of Funchal and the surrounding area that you may never get to on foot. However, the commentary on the yellow route was very poor. Lots of music and very few words. The blue route had a far better commentary, but was let down by the gaps in... More

We took the Funchal tour today and really enjoyed this hop on hop off service. The bus stopped at a high point above Funchal were we got off and had coffee while we waited 35 minutes for the next bus, when the bus drove down to the sea we decided to get off again and walk along the path along... This is something you should do the 1st few days you are here, 15euro for 48 hours. Hop on and off anywhere. It will even take you to the highest peak lookout and you must see this it is breathtaking. Doing this 1st gives you an idea of what you can see and walk to.

One of the best ways of acquainting yourself with this beautiful island, stunning views to be had at a very reasonable cost. The "hop on, hop off" facility is great as you can stop your journey whenever you like to go and explore. A real "must do"!!

Great views from the open top buses. We took the Camara de Lobos/Cabo Girao tour and were impressed by the service, which cost 12 euros each. It is a fair way to Cabo Girao, with a bus change at Camara dL, and the bus ride is quite exciting at times. As the tickets last 24 hours, we went back to... More
