Excellent operation. Great price, experienced crew and most of all sightings of cetaceans. We saw a small pod of common dolphins and soon after chanced upon a sperm whale mother and calf. Thereafter we saw single sperm whales and even caught the fluke hitting the water on camera. A must for tourists.

I thoroughly enjoyed this three hour trip on a stable and comfortable catamaran. We had good views of some sperm whales and I will never forget the experience of watching them shoot water from their blowholes. It was a splendid site. Nearer the shore, we saw the beautiful dolphins too. The crew were excellent. Welcoming, friendly and humorous. They were... More

Perfect day, lovely and hot with minimal wind made for a really enjoyable trip. Spotted some dolphins which was great as we understand they are hard to find at this time of year. Staff great, boat excellent and kids enjoyed sitting at the front on the netting. Amazing views of Madeira too. A thoroughly enjoyable trip.

Great three hours out at sea. We saw some dolphins but missed out on the whales. Definately worth the trip.

Sea-Born and two other catamarans run three-hour trips morning and afternoons for 30 euros a head. Mornings tend to be calmer as the wind and waves often get up later in the day. Although what you see can never be guaranteed, the boat travels some miles offshore and Dolphins are seen daily. When we were there Pilot Whales were also... More

Was really looking forward.to a half day trip on the Seaborn. The crew were brilliant from start to finish. The conditions were perfect and the sea views spectacular. It's always.a bonus if you come across any wildlife and when the crew spotted a pod of dolphins, everyone went wild! You are encouraged to move around the vessel which meant some... More

We had a wonderful afternoon sail on the Seaborn. The crew did spot a whale but it had disappeared before we got to see it. However there were several Dolphins around to keep us amused. To be honest the highlight of our afternoon leaving Funchal Harbour under full sail. It felt absolutely wonderful. The crew very very knowledgeable and helpful,... More

Fancied a sail with whale and dolphin watching so Booked Seaborn at the hotel (Pestana ocean bay) and noted it was cheaper than booking on line with ticket issued directly from the desk. Caught the cat at the main marina in funeral (just past the CR7 hotel and museum). Twice a day sailings and we took the 1500 sailing. Very... More

My trip was in February, and there were about 15 guests on the boat that probably has 100 in the summer. The staff were nice enough, but there wasn't any information past telling us which breed of dolphin we saw. We saw 2 types, and a Minke whale calf. The trip as a whole was quite relaxing, it was nice... More
