Interesting viewpoint that gives a view over Funchal and the bay. The tour buses (we took the yellow bus) visit this but you dont get long to take pictures.

Caught the red sightseeing bus and got off at stop 11. Great views of Funchal, sea, and mountains. Good little stop for a coffee and some pictures.

One of the best viewpoint ( miradouro) in the Madeira and is situated 355m above sea level. Simple place, but stunning panoramic view over Funchal bay and the city area. Opening hours: Summertime 8am- midnight Wintertime 8am- 10pm. Free Car Parking.

Worth getting off your tour bus for half an hour and looking down on places already visited. Slight drawback: the toilets were locked but perhaps the keys are kept by the snack bar.

If travelling in the areas, probably to the Valley of the Nuns this attraction is worth a stop. It affords good views over Funchal. Parking is free and there are toilets.

If you want to have the best view over the city of Funchal, this is the place to go. It offers parking spaces and also public bathrooms. It also has a bar and a souvenir shop.

It overlooks a valley with a town at the end of it. I'm sure Funchal would be better for the fireworks but haven't seen them yet myself.
