Don't bother - although only 5e you are better off going to the Madeira Film Experience, we got confused and that this was the film experience so we're disappointed.

Far better and bigger than it looks from outside. It's a museum in the best of modern ways, with a good variety of quality exhibits. It's interactive and engaging. There was more to see and learn than we had expected, so we were only halfway round when closing time came. After expressing ur disappointment at this we were allowed to... More

Situated close to the cable car, €5 entry for adults and €3 for children. Not a lot to see on the ground floor but the main exhibition area accessed via a lift is well worth a visit. Nice touch that all the information is in four different languages posted on the walls adjacent to each other and each language is... More

Good enough for kids, not a huge museum. The terrace restaurant is quite good with indoor and outdoor dining and enough place for ids to run around if they are bored. It overlooks the cable car and village and as usual the bola de caco was amazing.

Potted history of Madeira with a small coffee shop at the rear. Around lunch time ( I think daily), dancers come from here and perform at the base of the Cable Car.

The museum is very interactive, so appeals to children as well as adults. There were some unusual exhibitions and surprising facts to discover. The roof top restaurant was good. Looks expensive, but is fine for just coffee and cake if that's all you want. However, main meals are also well presented and reasonably priced.

The price of the museum has been reduced and it is now well worth seeing. On the top floor is a great terrace restaurant with silver service and great views.

A well presented exposition of the various stages of the history of Madeira. Probably suitable for children, too. A little bit difficult to follow the time line - but we did manage it. It is not deep or thorough so don't compare it with a library or the British Museum - but it is useful to give a basic outline... More

...this is probably best for the cruise ship tourists that might think they get some island experience with walking around a bit, nag and have coffee somewhere. There is more promise than what is in it - but then again that is how the World works nowadays isn't it?

This museum also has a restaurant on the roof that overlooks old town and the cable car entrance where it is situated. The museum itself is very interesting with lots of interactive exhibitions, although some were not switched on as we visited at Christmas out of season i assume. Would be great for families and children if these were activated,... More
