one of the oldest streets in Funchal, with almost every door painted with some sort of art work. Also numerous small restaurants along this street make it a very atmospheric place to eat

Visit the nearby local market; full of colour, costume, and a proper small market cafe serving excellent bolo do caco. Watching the fishmongers cleaning and gutting esparda is not to be missed.

You can’t go to Funchal without wandering the old town and admiring the painted doors. Every kind of art style can be found on the street doors.

I got lost trying to find this road, but not all maps are correct to scale it seems.. anyone once there, it's lovely to see the art. Very varied, very colourful.

Amazing welcome, very friendly and helpful staff. Food very tasty and local. House wine is good. We visited twice. Music every night.

In between the midrib of restaurants keen to have you eat with them are the unusually decorated doors. Different themes, styles, genre and construction make it a great place for a stroll.

Like most things, some of the doors were really good, most were average. Nice area to walk around in.

Little but very long narrow cobbled street filled with cafe bars restaurants with door art. Really is worth a look if your in the city.

This is the heart of old town Funchal . Many famous restaurants are here. Probably a bit too turistic but also the local people come to eat to this street .
