We arranged two day tours north of Porto through Portugal Premium Tours. Lucky for us, they called upon Joao from Tourists' Affairs to be our guide. We spent two delightful days touring the Alvarinho area and Park Geres. I would certainly echo other reviewers who found Joao very knowledgeable, very personable, and an excellent guide. He quickly perceives your interests... More

We had an amazing day with Joao - one of the best guides in the business! He was engaging, informative, and gracious. We had experiences that added immensely to our (too brief!!) time in Portugal; it was not just the typical hot spots for tourists. Joao really tailored the day to fit our preferences, and beyond wholeheartedly recommending The Tourists... More

Booked a one day private tour of Braga. Our guide was very friendly and good fun to be with. Tour took in main sights of Braga itself and also other out of town sites of interest that we got to via a Merc mini bus van. Our only slight gripes being history buffs was that some of the sites were... More

Our guide Isabel Leitao (who is an archeologist) was eager to show the beautiful city of Braga. Lots of information, also well related to the modern city. After the tour Isabel took time to sit with us, reply to questions and talk about daily life. Thumbs up for Isabel!

Our ship was stopping at Leixoes and we wanted a guided tour of Porto. We booked with The Tourists' Affairs through an agent and on the day we were met by Isabel and Joao. We had the most wonderful day with them and saw so much more of Porto than any cruise ship tour could offer. Both Isabel and Joao... More

My husband, 14 year old son and I decided to tour the Douro Valley with Joao - our only day in Porto (port stop on a cruise). We are glad we did - it was a fantastic experience. The valley is BEAUTIFUL - truly breathtaking - pictures do not do it justice!!! Joao was friendly and knowledgeable - answering all... More

If you want to experience not only a knowledgeable guide but also a charming person, then your Portugal experience should include time with Joao. After 7 days with a less than acceptable guide, we were so fortunate to spend our last three days with Joao. He shared his immense knowledge of Portuguese history and culture with us. His enthusiasm was... More

We found The Tourists Affairs through a referral from our guide in Lisbon. Joao was accommodating of our last minute change for a tour of the city of Porto rather than the Douro valley. We fell in love with Porto at first site and wanted to make the most of the time there. The day included a morning walking tour,... More

Tired of a tourist guide who just tells you the dates of when things were built and not much more? Want to know more of the social history, of the people who lived behind the facades? Then take a tour with Isabel - she speaks excellent English, knows lots about the town and can answer even the most obscure questions!... More
