Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Outdoor, covered bath site. Small indoor museum with an excellent multilingual video. The video give 3d walk-throughs of the various rooms of the bath, which helps you visualize what you are seeing at the excavation.

A good opportunity to see some of the remains of Roman Braga. Well presented and interpreted. A short walk from the current City Centre.

The ruins are a little out of the way. I wasn't able to get the video presentation to work but there were some information boards to help understand what you were looking at. The theater next to the site was also interesting, although it has only been partially excavated. If you enjoy Roman ruins then I would suggest visiting and getting the combined ticket that also gives you access to the Fonte do Idolo.

The Roman baths of Braga are worth a visit, but they are not more or less impressive than other Roman ruins of this nature throughout the vast Roman empire. Whether or not the adjoining Roman theater can ever be reconstructed is a major question.

The Roman Thermae of Maximinus is a worthwhile site to visit if you have never seen anything like it before, or if you are a "Roman tragic", like some of us! This is the remains of a 1st century complex, where there were public Roman Baths. In those days, Braga's namesake, Bracara Augusta, was a provincial Roman capital, and a very important centre. The site is not as well preserved as other similar sites, but that is a common problem in many countries around Europe where the Romans had set foot. What remains is quite interesting and with a bit of imagination and more information, you could bring back to life those amazing times. Keep in mind that excavations are continuing. As for getting there, it is not too difficult. If you have a map, or a phone app, then you should no real problems finding the site. It is quite close to the train station, about ten to 15 minutes walk at the most.

Braga is a very old city and you should expect some sights from the past.
These baths are not magnificent but they are an honest work and are well preserved.
Ticket entrance is affordable and you won't regret.

I like it's well preserved and you have an explanation video about how it functioned. I think the city should have more activities over there!

Definitely an interesting place to visit in Braga. On arrival you are shown a video telling you about the ruins and what they would have looked like. You then visit the ruins to see for yourself.

The site is a bit difficult to find and could do with a little more signage.

Worth a visit.

OK, this place is actually a ruin, but if they continue to take care of it the way we found it... It is worth a visit, but a little more information would help to really see what it must have been almost 20 centuries ago. We couldn't see the film (normally closed on Sunday, but exceptionally open because of the Bracara Augusta festivities), which is supposed to be OK. For 1€85 we don't complain, but our expectations were not fully met
