The castle has a great view, entry is cheap (1 € for students) and looks impressive from the out- and inside

This was so important to the history of Portugal that you think it would be filled with information. But actually is very humble and simple.

Entrance fee is just 2 Euros. There are not much interesting sections of the castle to see, but at least from the wall are some parts of the town visible.

It is a nice castel, with a old history and very warming. It is a pleasure to visit it. It is a must see.

Beautiful castle, it a shame that is almost in ruins but the towers and was still remains is well preserved. Entrance is really cheap, like 2 euros and totally worth the visit. There videos inside explaining Portugal history.

Guimaraes is about an 1.25 hours by train from Porto. If you enjoy European history and castles it is worth a trip. Although restored, none of the interior furniture and art is original to the building but the curation provides a good overview of the...More
