Edificio da Reitoria da Universidade do Porto in Porto is an impressive and beautiful university and campus. This is one of those campuses and schools that makes you wish that you went to school there. I had a really good time being here and interacting with the university. On a beautiful Monday morning in mid-September, our driver/guide took us from the Jardim da Cordoaria, and the statue of Ramalho Ortigão across the way to the lovely University of Porto, to view the Edificio da Reitoria da Universidade do Porto. The size of this building does make it a bit imposing, but I found the neo-classical architecture to be without much “soul,” and soul is something that Oporto has in abundance. However, the university’s location, among tree-shrouded parks, makes this an ideal stop, which exploring the surrounding neighborhood, whether just strolling, shopping, or grabbing a glass of wine in a near-by café. The entire neighborhood is alive, so it is but a few steps, and a few minutes, to study the Edificio da Reitoria da Universidade do Porto. Just make sure to explore the surrounding area well.…
