Very pleasant square that I happened on by accident as I wandered around Porto only to see again later from the open topped bus tour of the city. Not a lot going on, it's a quiet enough spot, charming though and worth visiting for the beautiful central fountain with the carved Lions. They are seriously impressive.…

Nice fountain, but not a lot more to recommend it. If you are passing through to somewhere else, it might be worth a look and a couple of selfies.

This lovely square is actually Praca de Gomes Teixeira. In the center of the square is the stunning Fountain of the Lions. That is why the square is popularly known as the Square of the Lions. You can also find the beautiful church Igreja do Carmo next to the square.
