My wife and I had a pleasure to walk with Rodrigo through Porto. He was very knowlegable, eager to explain things and answer questions. We've learned some interesting stories and facts about Porto and its history. Before the trip, the support and communication was also excellent, wlloeing us to plan our trip well.

This was a personalized tour arranged with Portoalities to visit wineries in the Douro Valley. Our interest was small wineries, so Portoalities put together an itinerary of three wineries and a lunch at a local traditional Portuguese restaurant.
Our day began with our guide, Tommy, picking us up at our hotel in Porto. He was prompt, polite and a gifted commentator. The trip out to the valley took about 1.5 hours so we had plenty of time to talk about the valley. Tommy was a wealth of knowledge. He seems to be well read of the subject of the wine industry in Portugal, which he shared with us.
The weather was quite dreary as it rained most of the day, but it did not dampen our spirits. The wineries and their personnel were delightful and the wines were delicious. We enjoyed all of the experience very much and would highly recommend Portoalities for all your touring needs.

Rodrigo made the tour so interesting even though we got absolutely drenched with rain and wind. We took cover in the cathedrals as much as possible. Can’t control the weather!

During our recent visit to Porto, my husband and I took two private tours with Portoalities. Our first trip was a full day tour of the Douro Valley; it included visits to two wineries with tastings. Our guide, Tommy, was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Portuguese wines and their production. The information he shared as we were driving to the Douro Valley really added to the experience of our tastings.
Our second tour was a half day Jewish Heritage Tour in Porto with Rodrigo. Rodrigo was very personable and knowledgeable. He took us through the old Jewish quarter and then gave us an option for the balance of the tour. We opted to have a general visit to the historic sites in Porto including Sao Bento train station. A very enjoyable half day.
Beyond arranging for our tours, Sara was helpful in giving us suggestions for sights and activities on our own in Porto.
I recommend Portoalities without reservation.

Tommy was our guide and driver. He was not only knowledgeable about the wines and wineries, about also about the history of the area and of Portugal. He was like a tour and wine guide all wrapped in one. We had asked for 1 large and 2 med/small wineries. We started out with a large one which gave us an appreciation of the variety of grapes, terroir, etc. But the smaller ones were so much more personable and private (as you would hope). If you have time, visit a large one on your own and have Portoalities arrange smaller wineries.

We had a wonderful full-day walking tour of Porto with Rodrigo of Portoalities!! Rodrigo was very knowledgeable about the history and sights of Porto. He took us to a fabulous restaurant for lunch and then to a great port house at the end of our tour. Our whole group enjoyed it immensely! This was my second time to Porto and second walking tour of the city and I still learned many things I did not already know! I recommend Portoalities very highly for personalized service and knowledgeable and hospitable guides!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Rodrigo. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We definitely learned a lot and highly recommend the tour to others.

We took two tours in Porto - the full day tour and the Douro valley boat tour + wine tasting.

Let me start by saying that there was no way that we would have been able to experience Porto at that level without Rodrigo's deep knowledge of the city's history and culture. Given our limited time in the city, this was deeply appreciated. He was a pleasure to spend the day with and we really appreciated his patience with us.
Of particular interest to us: the portion of the tour spent in the oldest part of the city. Having context to what we saw was key to this, and Rodrigo ably answered all of our questions and pointed out some things that we would never have thought to ask.
Re: The Douro Valley excursion with Tommy
Tommy dd a fantastic job - he was the perfect host, engaging, and filled with facts and anecdotes about the wine culture of the Valley and the people who live and work there. We were fortunate enough to have perfect weather for the day, and both the trip on the river and the visit to Quinta do Cume were relaxed, enjoyable experiences.
To sum up: we felt like both tours offered tremendous value; and experiences that would be impossible to replicate without the expert services of our guides.
Also I have to say the booking experience couldn't have been less stressful and the communication was very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend Portoalities to anyone visiting the area, and when we come back, we look forward to booking another tour!

We did a full day tour with Rodrigo including a tasting at Neiport. Rodrigo accommodated some last minute changes with delayed flights as well allowing for occasional translation for one of our party of four. He is passionate and knowledgeable about Portuguese history. A most wonderful start to any stay in Porto.

We had the most beautiful day in the Douro Valley with Tommy as our guide. He promptly picked us up at our hotel and drove us up to the Douro Valley all the while giving us descriptions of the area and what it is like to be a young person in Porto! He guided us thru the boat trip and lunch and then took us to a scheduled wine tasting. We arrived at a fabulous old farm and vineyard. Simply charming! Tommy knocked at the door, no answer. As he pondered what to do, a woman who worked there arrived and explained that the proprietor's wife had been in a car accident and he was at the hospital with her. The woman had come to set up the tasting (!). Obviously we felt horrible that this had happened to the family and would have just left, but Tommy jumped in and conducted the tasting! He was nervous since he was not the "expert" but he did a great job!!!! He really rose to the occasion!! It was awesome!
