Colorful
Jun 2021
Colorful church in the center of the city. Just in the commercial street. I liked better outside than inside.

Stunning Chapel
Sep 2020
It's a joy to see these wonderful colourful historic structures adoring the streets of the City centre, especially as most of Northern Europe is grey.
You will bump into it if you are exploring the old City shopping streets.

Beautiful church
Oct 2020
Small, but beautiful church, located at Rua de Santa Catarina. Free entrance. It's covered by beautiful, amazing blue tiles, typical for Portugal, "azulejos". Worth to see it.

We didn't get inside, but we weren't too upset...
Feb 2020
The chapel was closed, so they didn't get inside, but they weren't too upset... The life of Francis of Assisi on the Azuleju tiles is beautiful visible from the outside since 1929. The artist Eduardo Leita needed 15,947 tiles, covering about 360 square meters, to depict the vicissitudes of the life of the founder of the Franciscan order. The tiles themselves were made by the Fábrica de Cerâmica Viúva Lamego factory in Lisbon. Great job! I have not seen such a colorful biography of a medieval saint, even in his homeland in Assisi, Italy.

A beautful site
Nov 2019
Oh my goodness this is beautful - the church is right in the pedestrianised heart of the city with its walls adorned in those gorgeous blue azulejas that the city is famed for. Don't miss it!

The Chapel of Souls is gorgeous! It has ‘azulejos’ all over the walls! It’s definitely worth walking by and it’s located in Rua de Santa Catarina, another adorable spot in Porto! Gorgeous street with loads of cafe, pastelarias and stores!

A must see in Porto!
Sep 2020 • Friends
If you’ve seen pictures of Porto, Portugal before is quasi-imposible to not have seen this beautiful church covered in their traditional azulejos!

As our hotel (Sao Jose Hotel) was located 2 minutes walking from Capela das Almas, we were lucky enough to pass by it every single day of our lovely stay in Porto.

If you are not housed around it, make sure you pass by and take some pictures next to it. Make sure you wear vivid-popping-out-clothes!

Just a jem among other Igrejias

Located in the middle of the pedestrian Santa Catarina street this beautiful church has an amazing exterior design. Take a minute (may be with coffee, as I did), sit on the bench and just observe the scenes reflected on the walls.

Beautiful tiled exterior. The inside I did not find very special but the outside is very impressive.
