Looking from the outside you immediately notice two buildings: they are two churches divided by an apartment on floors for the priest. On the side of the church there are many azulejos. If you want to visit the church museum the price is low.

Beautiful church with very friendly staff. They explained to me about the entrance fee of only 2€, so I decided to pay it. It was interesting to walk around and explore. Especially the little place behind the statue where people used to go in to kiss the food of Jesus. The mummified nun was impressive to see. The tiles side of the church is also very beautiful.…

There are two „adjoining“ churches - adjoining in quotation as theres a tiny secret house in between. One has free entry and the other one it‘s two euro for visiting the church, the secret house, the church treasury, a small section of the burial chamber and a room with little history of the Carmel hospital (interesting to see the „birth chairs“. I know you get a lot of tiles like facades when walking trough Portugal. But this one here is simply amaizing. Also the front of the church is very nice and definitely worth visiting while in the area.
