Like markets in many European cities. Many vendors selling fresh meats, seafood, fruits and vegetables. There were also many opportunities to purchase locally produced crafts and souvenirs.

A must see in Porto. Lots of food and local products. Currently being renovated so it is a bit of a mess, but this is a very old mercado and needs it.

Very popular place to go , now more tourists and lesser locals, less fish and more souvenirs, but still you will get a touch of how it functioned in the earlier days
