What can one say about a statue except that it is a fine example of it's time and you can learn all about the statue whilst on a guided tour of Porto city hall which is opposite the statue

The Porto square has several things to see including this statue . The area is very busy with traffic and tours everywhere . I would recommend a tour because there is much to see .

The statue is big and impressive, but the most place is on 1 bench where just past the statue you can see the river and hill.

Impressive statue near centre of old town located in pleasant garden. Probably can't miss it but not worth going out of way to visit.

Porto is full of statues to all sorts of things and people and this one was exceptionally beautiful! It is possible to sit on the grass and enjoy the area....maybe with a picnic!

The walking tour ended at the statue of the "Navigator" who we were told didn't do much sailing himself, but promoted exploration. Located in a nice park with a view of locals relaxing.
