Lots of well done signs in Portuguese and English about the history of the Douro Valley and the production of port wine. If you are visiting Porto it's a good source of info on this area.

To be fair, if you are very interested in port wine this is an interesting museum. If you have a bit of a short attention span and don't like to spend an entire museum just reading large texts, this isn't too good. There are only a few artifacts to be shown, most of it is reading reading reading. So be... More

We stopped by about 40 minutes before the closing time. We were offered to do some tasting and the staff led us to a small room where they played us short movie about Porto and Port wines. We didn't pay anything apart from the tasting fee. It was a lovely experience that finished our tour around some of the Port... More

too small and with no suprise, a very lille museum, free entrance for porto card holders. Not necessary to make as it's really simple. The explanations about how the boats are made are interesting

We stopped by while riding tram along river. The entrance fee was around 2.20 Euro each. The exhibit focuses on history of port wine, not actual port wine making we're interested. The display is very limited (only one large room). You can get more info at any porto cellar tour. We're very disappointed. This museum is skippable.

Honestly said you can visit this museum in 5 minutes. We expected a lot more in the city of Port wine when visiting the Port wine museum.

I was very underwhelmed. It had a lot of writing which was tiny...and that was about it. It is free for entry. I think there is an audioguide, but I was so irritated that I didn't bother to ask.

The entrance is for free to this museum. It has small collection on artefacts related to port wine like old bottles and labels. Additionally there are map drawings and scale models of the boats which were used to transport the wine from upper rivet to Porto and onwards. The major handicap is that not all information is available in English,... More

If you go from Ribeira to Foz, on foot or by tram, this museum is right halfway and certainly worth a visit. It is a genuine, former 18th century Port Wine warehouse, which will nicely complement a visit to Caves do Vinho do Porto.
