Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is yet another beach that we came across and passed by during our enjoyable promenade walk at Foz. Praia do Molhe is located below the Pergola da Foz, so an easy landmark if you are looking for this beach in particular. There are many beaches in this location, none of which we would consider to be very large, and all of them virtually run into one another. Many have a mixture of sand and rocks.
We enjoyed a nice chilled out afternoon in the area.
If on vacation, and not driving, we found it easiest accessed by the STCP route 500 promenade bus from Porto.

It's a long beach running the length of the walkway along it, popular with locals and plenty of rock pools for the kids to investigate.

I didn't like the beaches. Lots of rocks, messy and - most impotant - not a good vibe. The only decent beach club was on this beach. They had some lounge chairs and good food.

I only saw the beach by night, you have some beach bars, but be carefull, there is not that much beach.. But for the rest it looked beautifull, and is a great spot to see the sun going down!

So after Albandeira, Carvalho and Marinha this would not be our first choice of beach to spend the day at. But we have a 6 year old and he insisted that we went back. Molhe is basically two very different small beaches with the one on the right almost covered up at high tide. The beaches are split by a huge harbour wall / water break outside of Portimao. The left one has very shallow water which sees quite big waves that attract bodyboarders and surfers. The right one has virtually no waves and very little incline which makes it perfect for small children who want to paddle or learn to swim. There are also rocks to climb and sand to dig in. The beach also has a small bar / restaurant which looked like a nice enough place to grab a bit to eat or to have a drink at the end of the day. There's a car park at the top of the cliff which provides good views of the surrounding area.

This is the beach that is found after the lighthouse on the left hand side and stretches out for quite a way !
Lots of eateries / Bars dotted about - a real place to rest and contemplate.
