The departure was delayed 35min, even if they new the boat wont be on time, they sold us tickets and then kept us waiting while promising new departure time. Terrible customer servis. No compensation. Never again.

We had to meet at the train station at 8.30am where the tour guide gave us the train tickets the train left at 9.10am and took 2hours we then boared the boat for the lunch and arrived back in Porto at 6.00pm

I believe It goes upstream one day and back downstream the next day, so if you are staying in Porto and want a day trip then you travel one way by boat and the other by train. The brochure shows 2 day options with an overnight in Regua for those wishing to go both ways by boat.
