The gardens really need their own entry. We didn’t go into the dome. A lovely formal garden with hens, ducks and peacocks! Well worth a walk round, with good views of the city.

The huge dome is closed for refurbishment but these are pleasant gardens to stroll around with good views over the Douro, interesting quirky corners and peacocks, and even a Michelin star restaurant

This attraction looks impressive from a distance. Then you get up close and realize its closed, out of repair and looks like its starting to fall apart. Hopefully, they will do some refurbishing on it soon, but right now, it's not terribly pretty at all....More

Pleasant fairgrounds and park to stroll through. Walk the paths or sit with uncaged peacocks. Plenty of statues and architecture to admire.

The former Crystal Palace is no longer there, but luckily its gardens remain. The park is compact, but so incredibly diverse that it seems to be many parks into one. You may not be into Botany or gardens, but it is a wonderful place to...More

We came in the top end of the park and were somewhat underwhelmed. The dome was cordoned off and the cafe in the library was closed. However the kiosk by the lake was open and friendly. Beyond the lake the views over the river were...More

Since, you have to work your way down by Palacio de CristalI, it is a bit impractical. You can find though lots of parking space near the entrance to the garden (on top), and then you'd need to come back to the car, or park... More

As far as I know dogs are allowed on leashes as long as you clean up after them.
