Harleston is a small market town with a big heart and worth spending a little time. The High Street harps back to a time pre out of town shopping nightmares or boring standard town selections. While small it is perfectly formed and you will almost certainly have someone wish good morning or afternoon.

Taking a leisurely country run we arrived in Harleston at lunchtime and decided we would have a light lunch when we saw a free car park space right outside the front door of the J D Young Hotel. The front was ordinary but belayed the inside which was immaculate both in the bar and in the large dining room. We... More

Our go to place for food and a wander. Great coffee shops, delicatessens, butchers and a market on Wednesday. Free parking in the Budgens supermarket car park, plus a quick and easy supermarket to stock up on essentials if needed

Recently hired a cottage near Harleston and were very impressed. Loads of cafes and shops. Butchers and bakers particularly good, AND parking is free. I wish our local town was as good.

Harleston has a country feel to it, meaning very friendly and nice little shops. They have many events over the year there, such as Christmas Fayre and tractor days. Lovely tea shops and cafe. Visit for a old piece of England

Harleston is a historic town with many friendly independent shops and cafes, definitely worth a visit. There are market stalls in the town square in a Wednesday.

This South Norfolk little town, on the border with Suffolk has a lot to offer. It is in the beautiful Waveny valley with several nationally famous walks in the area. There are many small, independent shops serving both locals and the passing tourist. The places to eat are varied and generally very good and not far away there are two... More

We have been house hunting in Norfolk and were on our way out of the county when we decided we needed some lunch. The roundabout was approaching and we had no idea where we were going. Well, what a delightful surprise! As it was Saturday, there were lots of people about and a Christmas market on. Clean, pretty and very... More

We came here as we wanted to see our family's local small town when staying with them nearby and wanted something to do on a cold wintry morning. They were so wrong when they told us "there's nothing much to do in Harleston" and it would only take 1hr to look round and visit the Cornucopia vintage shop. We could... More
